Wonderful.

Now I know what it's like to be raped in both ears simultaneously.

I always figured that even though I liked Final Fantasy and I liked rap some things just shouldn't go together. I've never been happier to be proven wrong.

I'm going to go ahead and put my judgmental hat on and say that this stream of unhinged hip hop hatred just makes me sick, and not only does it look pathetic and over the top, but it tarnishes The Escapist's image of tolerance.

And...this is pretty sweet. Though I think Ocarina of Rhyme beats it out, and some of the songs have been remixed better in the past, it's done well. Kudos.

And what can I say? I say it takes testicular fortitude to post this up in the news when musical tastes on here is at such a slant.

Sir Uematsu would sooner hang himself than try to dignify this abomination of a "song"!

I've no problems with rap, contrary to my previous statement, but you just don't mix rap with other genres. It fucks it up!

(Just like the sandbox monster voring all the genres resulting in games trying and failing to do all at once)

I can't believe what finally drove me to register here was a rap-final fantasy soundtrack crossover of all things. Just...wow, unexpected.

So, on the subject: I can't help thinking a few of these would actually be very interesting...if they took out the words. Just adding the extra beat to a few of those tracks sounded pretty good up until it got drowned out by the voices that didn't really add anything to the music itself.

Hearing it in the context of the game would probably just make the lyrics sounded even stranger.

I suppose these albums don't have a wordless version somewhere to test the theory?

I think the Tetris link had far more merit to it, this just obliterates the FF7 track into nothing by pushing the levels on the spoken rap too high, where the Tetris one has a much better level in the speech so you can hear the music too. It also fails on linking well into the original track, at least the Tetris one is about "Gettin' connected like tetris blocks"

I was skeptical, but this is actually...listenable. I mean, it won't be going on any of my favorite lists, but it's not all that bad.

Well, yeah, the Tetris one was written specifically for it, whereas the tracks on the FF7 experimental thing are just songs that were mixed up with one another while having no relation. >.>

Fully agreed on the voice obliteration of music bit.

Eh. Some parts fit well, others just feel incredibly out of place. All in all, mixed feelings.

Sheesh, what's with all the hate? I think these mixes are actually pretty cool; I downloaded the entire album already. Of course you're not going to like it if you just dismiss all rap ever created as sucky...

Nice find, Mr. Funk.

Terrible. It's like when you're leveling up and listening to music at the same time. You have to mute the TV, people.

(I'll admit, the Jay-Z Lucifer (Mako Reactor) one is pretty fucking awesome. Feels like "The Roots")
