Rammstein's new video - exploitative porn or clever subversion?

Now first off, forgive me for not posting a link, but this forum has youngsters on it and any fans will know where to look anyway.

Has anyone seen the video for new single 'Pussy?'

It's going to be huge. HUGE.

You can always rely on Rammstein to push things and be controversial but a lot of people seem to feel that full on porn is a step too far.

Personally I think as usual it's a clever, subversive video from the band with the best sense of humour in music.

Though I will admit, Till's giant frankfurter is not the ideal image I would have had this morning to go with eating my breakfast...

Let's see.. The live version of 'Buck Dich' (screw the spelling) was controversial enough, then the videoclip for 'Mann Gegen Mann..

Yeah. If I want still a fan of their music, I'd probably watch the new video and have a laugh. But I'll pass for now.

Still, good on'em for not giving up th' day job and all that. They have done some awesome videos in the past.

On topic, I saw it, and found everything about it (The video, the music, the lyrics) to be very... juvenile. I could see how this would appeal to a 'me' who was 7 or 8 years younger, but now I just watched and asked myself 'why?'. I didn't really see humour here.

And the OP mentions that Rammstein pushes things and makes controversy...but I didn't see anything controversial here. It's porn, and porn is everywhere. Just doing a search for a video game character in google image search will get you porn, pretty much. I don't see controversy here, just a silly cry for attention.

I saw it, wasn't impressed, it was a bunch of porn scenes juxposed between clips of the band playing.
I think it is just a "look at ME!" yell, and nothing more.

Immature humour isn't limited to sexual humour.
You can laugh at fart jokes (Or just farts), people tripping or running into things on purpose, and that's fine. I do that all the time. But sexual humour? It gets old. It gets old fast. I remember once thinking that Blink 182 was a funny band. Now I don't. Why? Because everyone and their pet fish can do sexual humour, and it's just not funny anymore. Maybe if I was 15 again, but I'm not. Sometimes...you just have to grow up.

I actually like the video, and I see nothing wrong with it. It doesn't contain more explicit lyrics and doesn't show more nudity than Bloudhound Gang's Chasey Lain, which most people considered funny. The video shows Ramnstein's humor, their ability to view things are relative and their vision on society. Another great example is their song Amerika:

You're just imposing your personal standards of what you consider funny.

If I choose to laugh at sexual humour and not pretend I'm too mature to, then I will laugh more often in life and to me that can only be a good thing.

It's Rammstein, one of the most racist, misogynistic, and otherwise hate EVERYONE bands in current popularity. It's exploitation. There isn't anyone they DO like.
