black holes don't actually suck you in. It's just the gravity of it pulling you in because it has the same mass (size? can't fully recall) as the star it was originally made from

Antarctica? 7 billion insects? I don't believe you.

-The 'peace sign' is derived from the Germanic rune called the 'Toten-rune'. The Toten-rune represents death. The peace sign was invented by Hitler's propaganda officers during World War II and then adapted to the Hippie movement.
I thought I read somewhere that the peace sign came from Semaphore. It has either A, D, G, K, N, or V. It could be N and D for No Death.
You know, I might have gotten that from Snopes. Hm. I still like semaphore better than creepy toten runes.

Here is another fact, spider silk is so strong that if it could be made as thick as a pencil, it could stop a Boeing 747 in mid-flight.
What do you mean by this? If a 747 flew into a fence made of pencil-spider-silk, then would it be stopped?

-There's a fourth state of matter: Bohn-Einstein Concentrate, or something that sounds like that. It's what happens when you uber-chill a solid. Like, to .0000000000137 degress Kelvin.

That's called a quadrillion, or 10^15.

~10^11 (or 100,000,000,000) neutrinos converge on every square centimeter of the earth every second. The average BSA (or body surface area) of an adult man is 1.9m^2, or 36100cm^2. Allowing for 7 seconds to read the sentence, which is being a bit generous, that would mean that 25270000000000000, or 2.527x10^16 neutrinos would pass through a human body in the time it takes to read that sentence. Sir, I believe this is valid.

Sorry if already said but cannot be bothered searching 4 pages.

Ahem, the female spotted hyena has a clitoris/vagina that looks like the male's penis AND it's ovaries look like external testicles.

This clitoris/vagina can become erect during intercourse and children are given birth through this penis-shaped vagina.

What about on Antartica?!?!?!?!?!?!
HA!
Anyway....the AR in AR-15 doesn't stand for "assualt rifle" It stands for Armalite model 15, Armalite being the company that designed the M-16 some 50 years ago.

And it was commercially available in the US until somebody(Bill Clinton) decided to ban it.

Here are some of the most commonly used models of Ions:
Arrhenius
Acids - Contain H[sup]+[/sup] Ions
Bases - Contain OH[sup]-[/sup] Ions
(This model works great for explaining basic chemistry, and strong Acids/Bases in Water

Brønsted-Lowry
Acids - Willing to donate 1 proton
Bases - Willing to accept 1 proton
(Can explain any Acid/Base in water)

Lewis
Acids - Willing to accept 1 electron
Bases - Willing to donate 1 electron
(Neatly explains all other acids/bases, such as those weird ones that don't work with water.)
(All salts are ionic compounds created from an Acid-Base neutralization)

That's very interesting, I never knew that. Thank you. No sarcasm there.

Incidentally, in a quick search to check that this is true I found out there's a Museum of Sex in New York. I've gotta go there. Once I'm 18, of course. Dammit. I guess the Museum of Sex thing counts as my random fact.

EDIT: I feel you should all know that 2 exhibits currently being shown in aforementioned museum include "The Sex Lives of Animals" and "Sex Lives of Robots." ...

Robot is Czechoslovakian for Slave, which is the origin of the word.
The Device "FRED", or Flashing Rear-End Device replaced the Caboose completely, by having a light to notify the end of the train, a monitor of Tail Brake Pressure, and a motion sensor communication with the "HOT" or Head of Train Device, colloquially known as 'Wilma' to detect if there is a stock or car separation.

Two things. First, wouldn't polar bears be left pawed?

And about the pigs: Who the hell found that out and why?

My fact: Battlestations: Pacific is going to be an amazing game and looks amazing graphically and every other way possible, but no one knows about it or cares and I try to tell them but they don't listen to me and I can't discuss the damn game with anyone and it's driving me crazy because I'm seriously hyped about it...

There are in fact many states of matter in addition to the classical three of solid, liquid and gas-

Amorphous solids account for things such as glass that are seemingly solid but can act like liquids over time.

Liquid crystals also form their own state, which is distinct from regular liquids.

Plasma is essentially ionised gas, but behaves differently. All the electrons become free, so you essentially have a sea of unassociated nuclei and electrons.

Superconductors have no electrical resistance and produce magnetic fields that are not distorted by their shape, i.e. perfectly parallel field lines.

Superfluids have no viscosity and thus will climb the wall of the container as it offers no friction. They also are perfect thermal conductors, although they form at very low temperatures so there's not much to conduct. Bose-Einstein condensate is a type of superfluid comprising of bosons that exhibits some very interesting properties, such as quantum effects on a macroscopic scale.
