Americans consume more salt each year in the form of potato chips than exists in the entire Atlantic Ocean.
Challenge.
The Atlantic Ocean is averagly 35ppm of salt (0.0035%). Approximate volume of the Atlantic ocean is 354,700,000 cubic kilometers. One cubic meter of sea water (desity) weighs about 1025g/cubic meter (1.025kg) thus the Atlantic weighs about 363,567,500kg (363,567.5t). 0.0035% of this weight equals 1,272.49t.
Holy Shit you're right.
EDIT:
That would be correct if 1 cubic kilometer weighed 1.035kg. The correct answer would be 1,272,490t, thus
Nope, you're wrong.
Unless every American eats 289kg of salt each from Potato chips alone.
Yeah, I tried to sneak one in there.

There's no fooling the internets, it seems.

About half of the core melted in the Three Mile Island incident.
Actually, the Three Mile Island incident was a massive anti-climax. The amount of radiation released was about the same amount as you would pick up from flying on a commercial airline.

[li]William Shakespeare was 46 when the King James Bible was published. In that bible, in Psalm 46, the 46th word in is "shake" and the 46th word from the end is "spear". This is because he was called upon to help write the translation, and slipped his name in as a bit of a joke, for which he was well known at the time.[/li]

[li]Too much about the Bard? You can never have too much! His name is even an anagram of, "Here was I, like a psalm."[/li]

Motor oil and baking powder have been used as a substitute for coffee in advertisements, because it looks smoother than actual coffee.

If we're talking about Starbucks coffee, it will certainly taste better.

Scientists have discovered a way to get some sort of waves to travel around an obect. When they figure out how to do this with light we will be able to become invisible! Girls locker room here I come!
Unfortenatly if they were ever consructed the person inside whould not be able to see anything outside the "shield" becuse how can one see if the light dosent reach the eye? So to be able to see one whould need to expose somthing and the best choice whould probably be some fiberoptics.

e^(pi*i)+1=0, also known as the Euler's equation or identity, have been voted to be the most beautiful equation.

Their are more insects in one square mile of earth than their are people on the planet.
You take a pie, a cake, whatever, and cut yourself a thin little wedge. That's roughly how many non-insect species there are.

Although no large amounts of radiation were released, half of the core still did melt. That is not to say the reactor vessel failed.

The Mona Lisa has no eyebrows.

Who noticed that?

Oh, and the king of hearts is the only king without a moustache on a standard playing card.

OOoo, this is so much fun!

Over 10,000 birds a year die from smashing into windows.
The world's termites outweigh the world's humans 10 to 1.
A 'jiffy' is an actual unit of time for 1/100th of a second.
Over 2500 left handed people a year are killed from using products made for right handed people.

Caesium [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LILeHRv5qsU&NR=1] Explodes violently when simply added to cold water. It is the second most reactive element discovered by man...there aren't any youtube videos of the first, Francium, though, because I doubt the camera would survive, even if the element hadn't been observed and isolated only a few times in other chemical reactions.

hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia [http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia] is the fear of long words...yeah, someone had a great sense of humour.

For everything else, screw Mastercard, there's Monty Python [http://youtube.com/watch?v=JWVshkVF0SY]...althought admittedly it is a bit out of date, and the big bang did probably not happen in that way...and the CGI probably didn't suck as much.
