Hello again Escapist,

As you may or may not know I can be a very, lets say, angry person when stupid things happen that can easily be avoided. I will give you examples later in my life, but really Rockstar, or as the fans may call them "R*", are confusing me. Giving me conflicting thoughts really. No its not the sex and violence cause I am use to that and have been use to that since I was little kid but it's more to do with the massive difference between GTA V and GTA Online. Yes this is another GTA thread but bare with me. I rate GTA V for it's story and good game play, not the best game play but still good. Yes the characters are annoying and not easy at all to relate too but it's part of the story and hello it's GTA. Then I go on too GTA online and that's when things just go down hill.

Yes there are loads of missions but then they just start to repeat themselves and worse you get low pay for doing them. Cops have the most perfect aim and completely out of control cause even if you stand near them they shoot you point blank. When you think you are clear from a high speed pursuit they spawn in front of you. BUT then again I use different tactics to outsmart them, I'm an adapter. I know Rockstar wants to make things tougher but this is a little over the top. You know what that isn't even the problem, the problem here are the following...

Glitches and Bugs mid mission - who would have guessed it, during a mission the game decides to give up on you and not give you the needed instructions to carry on completing the game. eg. In the middle of a Martin mission and had to blow up 2/3 trucks filled with coke and wait for further instructions once they where blown up. A group of us did that but did the message come? NOPE. We were stuck, nothing to do. What was meant to happen was once we destroyed those tracks we were meant to destroy a few more with one of them being guarded by an attack helicopter. Cause we didnt get that mission it was a "Mission Failed"... BULLSHIT!

Another I experienced was a mission where I needed a helicopter to go to the top of a building. I wasn't given one first hand so I thought "hey lets go to Blaine County Airfields", Nope nothing there. "Let's go to the other smaller airfield", Nope nothing. "Let's go to the Hospital", Not a single one, "This is getting stupid lets go to the Helipad", guess what? NOTHING. "Airport?", You guessed it no chance. So I thought I will call Lester, *busy tone*. Okay fuck this, so I called Merriweather, cost me $6000 but finally got somewhere. Killed the guy (which is the only way to get the heli myself), went to the top of the building but was sniped out by a sniper. So was I did a quick restart and I called Merriweather again but then get what "Do to our recent business with you, we decide our services to you are no longer available for the image of our company"... FUCK... YOU!!!!!!! I turned off the game and went to play a classic PS game Oddworld cause I haven't got time for bullshit.

It weren't just the massive bugs and glitches but the latest update or "Patch" fixed many other problems but a little hidden secret thanks to Rockstar, It halved the mission payout. Thats right if you "join" a mission you get half. So a shitty car repo mission from Simoen is now worth $1000. Whats even worse is that the payout is in consistent. Today 4 of us were doing a mission, a guy and I went and did all and I mean ALL the work, killing the infinite spawn of enemies, and delivering the coke and the other two were just pissing about in their fast cars having a damn race and not getting a single kill cause they were in the desert. We passed the mission and guess what, The guy and i that actually did the work got half of the pay out and the other two got the full $18000, He was the host and for some reason he got half but other two or joined and did fuck all got the most. I call BULL FUCKING SHIT on that one.

So I looked online seeing if others had similer problems to mine and many are having the same experiences but its the massive fanboys are hating those who complain. I get it, if the bugs happened only once or twice it's not a big deal but if it keep happening every 2 missions, I think someone has a right to complain.

Fanboys: "Why don't you guys just stop complaining and give rock star a chance, cause I never experienced these bugs and maybe you are all shit at the game."

Well if you pay £50 or whatever for a game you kinda expect some answers and less bullshit. Also don't anyone defend the whole in game micro-transaction part of the game cause that's a con. You have money in your in game bank account eg. $90,000 but no cash in your hand and you want to buy a $1 soda, instead of Rockstar saying "Please go into your in game account and withdrew cash" but nooooooooo instead it says, "If you want cash, please go to the Playstation Store and paying for in game cash". REAL MONEY!! Rockstar you already made back twice as much money in the few week of launch twice over, but why are you asking for more money and making mission prices pay out less? Equally bad you stated you will reduce the players stats over time if they don't go on GTA Online for a while? REALLY? You will punish those for going on holiday for a few weeks or in a worse case scenario, their console or controller broke and had to wait until payday to get another another one? I get you want people to carry on playing the game but once again that's outrageous and a slap in the face to fans who brought the game.

Okay I have ranted on for a long time now and sorry if I bored you but I would like to know what you think of what I said and even share your own bad GTA Online moments. Sorry I just had to let that all out but funny thing is there is more to say but I really don't want to bore you with so much. Comment below and I appreciate you all for listening and reading... mostly reading.

P.S. I miss old PS one games :(

I think GTA online is great, I haven't had any bugs (apart from losing £40k but no biggie) and you really seem to get what you put in. I thought cops were annoying until I found out that they attack you if they see you in a vehicle you stole, which made a lot of sense.

Nope, you bought the game already and if you had doubts about the quality of the multiplayer (trailers are made to sell) you could have just waited 2 weeks and see if it was worth getting it. If you thought at the time that buying it for the singleplayer was worth it then it was worth it.

Its like that pre-order thing, people pre-order and then get mad at the fact that the game sucks. Well, next time dont pre-order.

Also, money isnt all that important (the ranking is a lot more important since it gives you access to weapons and missions that give you enough money to buy whatever meaningless crap the player wants like clothes and cars). Focus on actually having fun instead of gaining money for the sake of making it.

Don't buy newly-released games unless you want to deal with bugs. I thought that was common sense in today's industry. Do people really expect big-open world games to be released bug free? Of course we as consumers want them to, but be realistic.

That not only applies to Rockstar, but any developer. They're only getting away with it because you let them. I'm the kind of person who thinks actions speak louder than words so instead of whining about it online, do something. Next big game organize people to not buy it new, but after the first patch. If the company sees a surge of sales the day after a patch it shows people like the game, but don't want to pay to deal with bugs.

Wait, they do that? That sucks, cops are useless in singleplayer. They dont chase you if you crash into other cars in front of them, they don't react if you drive past a speed trap at 120mph and they do nothing if you pass them in a stolen car.

Didn't they say the payout would be halved for repeating missions? It sounds like you're saying it's some sort of glitch.

I understand that but these were first time missions and still got half if you joined.

It's a great game but so bloody buggy... Something always seems to screw up with it just as I'm really getting to enjoy myself. Rockstar really dropped the ball.

Personally, I think the respect that Rockstar had built up in contrast to other Devs and Companies though how consistently good their games are is why we should cut them some slack.
Do they deserve it? I dunno but the .5mil they are giving to all players show that they realized they done fucked up and are trying to make it up to us.

I ran into something like this once. In Splinter Cell, actually.

There's this guy running through a cold building. And I'm supposed to follow him. The trouble is, he keeps going through keypad-locked doors. I'm supposed to enter in the passnumber in each door as the heat signature left by his own fingures gives me a vague hint as to which buttons I'm supposed to push. Well, I managed to actually get fast enough (while still staying silent) to stay right on his tail and pass through every keypad door before it automatically closed behind him. So, I got to where I was supposed to be. But since the game registered that I hadn't entered a code for any of the doors, it insisted I failed to even pass through them at all!

I've been playing the game extensively and have yet to encounter any mission breaking bugs. Perhaps I've been lucky, or you unlucky.

It does say in the mission description that you should have purchased a helicopter before attempting it. I do think it would be better if this mission weren't available till one had obtained such transportation.

Yeah it doesn't work that way.
You get full pay the first time you do a co-op mission, then half pay for repeating that mission later on.
Yeah I agree that sucks for the earlier missions (doesn't really matter for the later missions as they pay much more), but if money is your goal then co-op missions aren't a good way of earning it.

It's going to be difficult for someone who has had a completely glitch free experience of the game to empathise with the opinions of one who's view has been heavily coloured by said glitches.

If I'm being brutally honest it was probably a good call for them to reduce the repeat mission payments. Some missions were a disproportionately easy way of grinding cash. And marketing attempts aside, what's the issue with the microtransactions? After all (as of yet) there is no microtransaction exclusive content that cannot be earned by just playing the game.

I can see why the perceived motivation behind the stat degradation might piss people off, but I struggle to care. I don't think I've gone longer than 3 days without logging in since I started but I didn't notice any stat degradation then. Even if they were to drop back to square one I don't think it would impact my ability to play and compete at all.

Frankly, I've been having a blast with it. I've played some very broken games in my time but this is not one of them.

Well aren't i dumb enough to believe a top company would sell a product 3/4 finish with no problems. If a motor company sold a car that had missing pieces to it and weren't finished, people would be seriously hurt. All honesty here, if you make something and is only 75% completed and asked for 100% of the price, I think something is wrong there. I don't know, I'm just new to all of this.

Or I'm just getting a lot of bad luck lately.

I sound like a broken record on this at times but I haven't touched any of their products since they hired my friend, worked him and his coworkers crunch time for 18 months straight and then fired them when the game shipped. I don't care if their games are fun, not every developer does this and I sure as hell won't support those that do.

I'm sorry that happened to your friend and seriously, pardon my german, that's fucked up. Companies that exploit workers like that and still make a massive profit should be hung out to dry and exposed.

Most, if not all of the comments are just saying "why does it matter? Every other online game is like this". It's attitudes like that which allows such practices to continue. If people are fine as long as it gets fixed at some point companies will continue to ship unfinished products. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the fact that nowadays the companies even have the chance to fix bugs post release. What I'm saying is we shouldn't let them rely on such a service.

This gen I experienced more problems with games then the last gen. People got up in arms about the Mass Effect ending, but don't even care when the ship a defective problem so long as they eventually make a patch for it.

Thank you. That's where I was coming from with all of this. I remember the gaming days where you just put in a game and play. No worries about patches, updates, DLC, trying to find internet connection. Just companies actually selling a game completed and has been tested before release rather than half finished, paying full price and easily expect something later, in which some don't come. Fixing bugs is great BUT don't like the practice of certain companies just going half arsed on something they are making.
