Why is it that upon getting home from work, whoever you come home to, if anyone at all, asks the same question....
"how was work?"
i mean really? i just got back from it. it was work, it felt like work, at work i.....worked, furthermore the last thing i want to think about is WORK. ask me anything, tell me anything, but if it involves work i aint interested. not in the slightest.
okay i feel better now.

It's a greeting to people who just got home from work. How was school, how was your day, ect.
It's not really a problem...or an annoyance. Just say "fine" or "usual"
...

I just give the ol' "Yeah s'alright" on getting that question from my mum on returning home. I DO avoid responding to any other questions about work later on though, because home is home, not work.

No one asks me how my days are any more.
They'll always get the same answer: "Fine"

So... how was your day Ula? Mine was fantastic. I figured out that I'm much better without scopes when I'm using a rifle. I went all Simo Hayha at a nice range. You?

Has anyone ever actually asked you that?
God forbid someone actually likes you enough to even bother asking.

I wish there was a hot girls channel. I certainly don't mean porn, but just a channel where all the shows conveniently have hot girl actors.

Also, school is shit.

Ain't I a typical teenager?

Gosh I hate teenagers.

Well, I'm glad your day was fine Ula. You certainly seem like the type of person who deserves a fine day each day. Well, I'm off to a local flea market. Hopefully you don't have to go to these.

I hate being asked "How was school?", of course it was the same as every other day of school, like a corridor-shooter with bits of homework thrown in.

I've never really had a problem with anyone asking me how my day was (since I usually just say 'can't complain' or 'alright').

What does bug me though is when your running for the train, you're just about to make it (you can touch it) but the doors close right at the last moment and your train leaves...meaning you have to wait for the next one in about half an hour (needless to say you are usually late for whatever you were traveling to by now).

I agree with you. Most of the time, I don't feel like talking about work. Especially right after I get home. My wife on the other hand, talks about her work almost all the time. I kind of understand since she's doing a job that has been her goal ever since she was a little kid: to be a teacher. I still have to change the subject as gently as I can sometimes as I eventually get tired of hearing about it.

She asks me how my work went or is going and sometimes, I talk about it. Usually something funny that happened or that someone said. I try hard not to bother her with negative aspects of what I do. For the most part, I enjoy working at a video games store. There are days when it gets me down though. Usually, it's due to some customer being a total jerk. We've even had a couple of robberies since I've been there, but I just don't like complaining about my work with her.

Whether I have a fun day or a frustrating one, I consider myself to be one lucky guy to be a gamer who gets paid to talk with people about video games and movies. I learn a lot about games and the hardware they run on too. If I could permanently kick out the customers who are rude and sometimes even mean (which are thankfully pretty rare), it would be even better.

A word to my fellow Escapists, be nice to the guys in the video game stores! They are humans with feelings just like you are.

I just say 'yeah it was fine', unless it wasn't, and at the same time appreciate that somebody cares... You should try it.

That was when I was employed anyway.
