I got in a Bar fight yesterday and swung at a guy standing next to a sherif or deputy the man steps to the left and I nail the lawman right in the face the now simple braw turns into a shootout I manage to escape by jumping off the up stairs balcony and riding off.

had people steal my horse about three times never really chased them down just pulled out my rifle and shot them off it.

Based on this, I will be purchasing this game. Is it as dud on PS3 as I hear?

I've got it for the PS3. I have a regular TV (Sony Vega from like 8 years ago, it's still got a tube!) and I think the game looks fantastic.

I've had to turn the traditional GTA lock-on targeting off, NOTHING is a challenge with it on, do yourself a favour, turn it off and increase your enjoyment and longevity of the game.

My story; On horseback accidentally ran over the town dog, horrified, I ran over to it's body but accidentally pressed 'Y' and skinned it. Walked away from it's fleshy corpse, into the nearest saloon and drank myself unconscious...good times.

Based on this, I will be purchasing this game. Is it as dud on PS3 as I hear?

I heard the only difference is graphics. the ps3 one runs on a slightly lower rez.

All games on the PS3 run on 720, XBox has a bunch of games that run on 1080 but none of them are utilizing that resolutions full potential so it's all the same.

For instance uncharted 2 is 720 but it eats every game made on the 360 that has 1080 for breakfast in the graphics department, almost even rivals that one PC game Crysis....=0

Anyways as for my story, what is up with that crazy Catholic girl running around out in the desert, you know the one you meet on the train...0o

I've had to turn the traditional GTA lock-on targeting off, NOTHING is a challenge with it on, do yourself a favour, turn it off and increase your enjoyment and longevity of the game.

I started the game with 'expert' targeting, and was wondering if I should switch to normal (Riding with expert targeting can be tricky, to say the least), but when I watched a video of it on the 'net, I thought it looked waaaaay too easy to have it on. This post just solidified what I had already decided: I'll stick with Expert.

I might switch to 'normal' in free-roam when I give multiplayer a chance (Once I'm used to the single player controls), but for SP, it's expert all the way. When I shoot a guy running across the plains off his horse...it's all me, baby.

I had 2 glitches already.

1. I had a group of enemies float in mid air, "walking" around and shooting at me. They were at least 3 stories over my head.

2. I was running into cover then all of a sudden, I get launched up into the air about 100 feet at least but I land without any damage for some reason, thank god though because I hate dying in this game more than GTA.

For example, I was riding out in the desert and this guy on foot says "mister give me a ride! and starts begging for me to give him a ride but when I get near him he says "I have a better idea." He then pulls me off my horse and jumps on it and starts to gallop away. So I whistle for my horse and he bucks this guy off and he starts running away. I shoot him in the leg to catch up to him and tackle him down and knock him out with repeated fists to the head.

Just because that can happen in RDR it's already the best sandbox game ever. That kind of interactivity is just fantastic, when shit is being done to you and you yourself don't have to start every interesting thing. Makes a virtual world feel a lot more alive. Unlike, say, Oblivion. And I still have to wait 2 days for it...

3 guys were shooting at an unarmed man running away..... so I pulled out my gun and killed the 3 guys.... turns out they were the law and the guy running was a criminal... $200 dollar bounty, yikes.... so I ride into town see a man with a knife raping a woman, I then whip out my knife and shank the f^.^er. She thanks me and I ride to the sheriffs office. Some how my bounty just disapeared...... It was weird.... so I skinned a horse.

I don't know where you guys get your info from. RDR and most games are 720p, but many are 1080p on PS3 and Xbox. Second, it's no secret that the PS3 slightly edges out the Xbox in power so if anything the Xbox would have the lower graphics, but the fact is, they're the same.

When you do something good it cancels out a bad thing and sometimes the bounty. It depends on how famous you are and your honor level.

I was riding around hanging rock today and this guy rides up and says "they are going to hang my brother! you have to help!" so I followed him back to hanging rock and sure enough three guys have some poor sucker in a noose at that tree. I quickly killed them and shot the rope he was hanging from and he dropped to the ground safe. There seems to be multiple random events in almost every area. I had the woman being chased by cougars in the same area.

This game quickly went from great to GOTY for me today.

Well there was that time when a giant cat of some kind (not quite sure what it was) Came out of tall grass and killed my horse. I shot that one dead in revenge, and then proceeded to get blindsided by a second one and died.

Maybe but I just found this out, red dead is a GTA type game right... and in GTA the tutorial takes like 10 hours to complete. Well you don't unlock getting a bounty on your head until you help out seth....No seriously a $200 bounty is gonna call some bounty hunters, but no one cared. After seth I got fined for $20.
