After I switched to playing guitar a couple years back I figured I should learn how to sing. I really sucked at first, but after a little research and listening to a crap load of singers, I like to think I can sing...sorta. I wouldn't say I can sing great but my voice sounds better than most in high school bands. I'm definitely not a screamer type, mainly 'cause I just don't like it much and it hurts my throat. Also I've never had any interest in choir.

I play vocals on Rock Band, Hard to Expert difficulty.

I'm the only person in my social group who likes shaming himself at karaoke, so I get dumped with the mike a lot.

I was in a church choir for about 10 years before a...conflict of interests forced me to quit. I still do some singing, though--I sing my own stuff, mostly.

I'm a bit of a theater nerd, and I just discovered musical theater my senior year in high school so that's where most of my singing comes into play. I'm not what you'd call a vocalist since I'm relatively inexperienced, but I did pretty well and I'm looking to study singing more in depth so I can keep on with musicals...

Agreed. I made my sister laugh when I sang that. She didn't know my voice can go that high.

I got an applause from everyone in the room so either I did good or they just applauded the fact that I had the balls to do a patented Rob Halford scream in a room full of gamers.

Vocalists are so overrated. They make me angry.
Still think so?

OT, I can sing a little. I'm mostly a guitarist, but I have a (semi) decent voice that I break out on the odd occasion.
Yeah.
That was pretty boring and terrible.

Im a vocalist in a band of my own and guest vocals in my friends band Quarantine
I mainly got into it from listening to Nu-metal and Alternative music from the 90's, so that would roughly be my vocal style

I used to be an MC, rapper, etc. whatever. Currently, I'm a death metal/deathcore/metalcore vocalist.

I'm pretty good I think.

Inspirations include Animosity, Bring Me The Horizon, Decapitated, Thy Art Is Murder, Parkway Drive, The Black Dahlia Murder, A Day To Remember, etc.
...How did you go from being an MC rapper to a Deathcore vocalist... Do...do those demographics mix?

I don't really sing myself... for two reasons, one, I'm just not very good, and two, if I were to sing practically, I'd have to drum at the same time, and having tried that before, I don't plan on doing it again... Namely because it's hard...

Hotel California by the Eagles, the singer for that song plays drums at the same time. It isn't impossible to do both very well, I'd give it a shot.

Oh, I can do rock drums fine, but I play fairly quick metal most of the time. I can do it then, but I can only keep up a consistent double bass beat and a very simple snare and cymbal pattern. And that's no fun. I like my fills.

My feet tend to tighten up whenever I tap them too fast, I could never do the drum lines they do in some metal songs...This makes me sad.

Kind of, but extremely badly. I just got into a different crowd after my junior year and they introduced me to the heavy scene, and I made a big transition overtime. My music taste expanded in a huge way, but now I mostly focus on heavy/fast/extreme metal/hardcore punk and subgenres branching from them.

Oh man, double bass is by far the hardest thing I have ever had to learn drum wise. It took me over 4 months to be comfortable enough doing it to even attempt playing a complete song. Also, your feet shouldn't be hurting... How are you hitting the pedal?

Musical tastes via peer osmosis?

Oh they aren't hurting and I haven't even tried on the drums. I was just saying that when I tap my feet fast they tend to tighten up and feel as though they are slowing down against my will. It was a joke that I failed horridly at.
