From two Fridays ago till last Thursday, my friend was staying over. We had a lot of unhealthy food, but we biked a lot. A couple days before he left I weighed myself and was 107, two pounds over my regular weight. The day after he left, I was 102. Today, I am 95 pounds. I'm not sure if this is relevant at all, but yesterday I had green diarrhea before I had eaten anything. I am 5'6" and age 15.

I AM NOT A DOCTOR DO NOT TAKE WHAT I'M ABOUT TO SAY AS A PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL CONSULTATION.

With that out of the way, I don't think you should get too worried at the moment.

The body fluxuates in weight throughout the day. For example, if you weigh yourself after a lot of water and a large meal you will probably be several pounds more in weight. Firstly, you need to make sure your weight is being measured properly:

1) Make sure the scale is calibrated every time you step on it.

2) Make sure you weigh yourself naked. Clothes do not all weigh the same. Clothes can get heavier with sweat, etc.

3) Weigh yourself at the same time every day. This way you are, in general, measuring yourself within the same timeframe of your daily routine; IE, if you do it every morning before breakfast you'll always be measuring about the same time as when you last ate.

I knew a guy who was a roofer in his early 20's who swore his pants didn't fit him at the end of a work day and had to tighten his belt before leaving the work-site because of how dehydrating the work was.

In addition, you're 15. Your body is going hormonally insane at the moment. Some weight shift likely isn't a concern.

Lastly; keep an eye on it. The worst case scenario, and I say this to inform not to scare, that I know of would be colon cancer. However, at your age range the odds of it being cancer are incredibly slim. Colon cancer, even in people at risk (such as myself, which is why I know about it) is generally not even screened for until your 40s-50s. Ask your family if there is a history of colon cancer. If there isn't, I really, really doubt it would be that.

If the weight loss persists or you're still concerned you should see a doctor for a professional opinion.

If you're worried go see a doctor. Rapid weight loss is probably just an acute upset, some sort of gastritis. Other causes could be a food intolerance or thyroid hyperactivity. Malignancy at your age is incredibly unlikely.

This sort of fluctuations aren't all that uncommon, in addition to AC10's advice you really should only weight yourself once a week and I'd make "same time of day" a more specific "morning" as what you've eaten can affect things at the end of the day, whether it's in your stomach or further down. This tends to sift out random jumps and indicates trends more often than not.

If rapid weight loss continues for 2-3 weeks, you may want to talk to a doctor. But at your age leads me to believe this isn't much to worry about.

Don't sue me if you end up withering away though. D:

Well, according to Google, you have cancer and are also pregnant. Mostly, I think AC 10 has it right, if you insist on weighing yourself. At your age I was never really bothered with my weight, and considering that you weigh next to nothing I don't think you have anything to worry about in the immediate future. A 12 pound loss at your size is significant, so if it doesn't stabilize in a week or two, you may want to seek an opinion more informed than mine.

You are 15 and obviously very skinny, your weight will be erratic until the age of 20+ where growth and consumption slow down again.
But green diarrhea is a clear indicator you aren't eating properly, I doubt a teen will care but you might want to make sure you get all the major food groups regularly.

Think back - did you have anything blue to eat? That'll come out the other end green.

If the stomach issues persist, you could have developed an intolerance. I know randomly one day I woke up and was then continually sick for months afterwards while we tried to figure out what my issue was, all while I lost weight. Once we discovered I'd become unable to digest dairy and I altered my diet, I felt better instantly... and the weight came back. (Boo.) But now I'm careful about my dairy intake and all is good. Unless I eat too much pizza.

So maybe consider cutting out dairy or gluten for a few days if you're still having stomach issues.

You probably just ate like a pig while your friend was there, though, and will recover in a few days.

It's fine now. I'm back to 102. It's just I haven't been 95 in a long long time, so I panicked a tiny bit.
