Of the ones I've played?

2 > 1 > Brotherhood > Revelations

I feel like two was the game that had the strongest balance between fun gameplay and presentation. The franchise still felt new, and they were improving on the original formula without bogging it down with too much chaff.

The first game has aged in general pacing and gameplay, but I still think it had a strong sense of presentation and atmosphere. I know a lot of people hated the Desmond part of the series, but I thought in the first game it gave everything interesting context, with him being trapped in a sterile white environment, while still being able to snoop around and uncover what hidden information he could.

Brotherhood is where I stop remembering much about the franchise. It was fun at times, but it was just the second game again. Same hero, same villain. Just with more random things to do in the city, more gadgets to bog down the initial formula, and a button that lets your assassin buddies finish entire fights for you.

I never finished Revelations, so maybe the ending's amazing and I never saw it. But I just got tired of the standard Ubisoft formula by that point. Like the map looked like a massive list of chores to do as opposed to a fun place to explore.

I refuse to plop down cash for Unity, even if I really, really want to traipse around Paris during the Revolution.
It's even more fun clambering around the Parisian walls and rooftops under Nazi occupation, believe me ;)

Black Flag...

...that's it. None of the other ones really have enough in them. 2 was okay, but going back after adventure on the high seas really makes it seem lackluster.
Haven't played the new Egyptian one, but eh...

1, 2, and... That's it. The rest I haven't considered to be worth my money. Black Flag doesn't count. I mean, c'mon. It's an AC game in name only.

Best Halo Game: Halo 2 followed by Reach.
Halo 3 makes Halo 2 irrelevant in almost every single way. Unless you're talking about the campaign, in which case, yeah, I agree to a point.

The only thing Revelations story does well is to close out Altairs and Ezios stories(especially by showing what happened with Altair after the first game ended. Other then that, you're not missing anything.

I thought the dungeons where you look for the discs were fun.

If you played 2 and don't have interest in 4, just pick one and go with it. It really doesn't matter.

I would honestly give this franchise a hard pass. I personally though Shadow of Mordor did a pretty good job with the assassination bits.

Of the original trilogy, I'd argue that Halo 2 has the best plot, but the least impressive campaign in terms of gameplay. While the John levels are fun, the Arbiter levels...aren't. At least those that aren't the final ones once the Great Schism begins. In essence, about 40% of Halo 2's campaign are levels that aren't engaging (for me).

Fun fact: Did you know in Halo 2, besides the Flood infection forms, you're the weakest character in the game, health-wise?

OK, I haven't played the new generation ones, but the others I would rank like this:
1 - Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
2 - Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
3 - Assassin's Creed III
4 - Assassin's Creed II
5 - Assassin's Creed: Revelations
6 - Assassin's Creed (1)
7 - Assassin's Creed: Rogue
