RANT: Weapons on your back

I like to think that the wearer has some type of magnetic undershirt or something to keep whatever metal object. And other materials? Magic, or some other type of ethereal force.

While we're on the subject, since when did gaming get to a point where everything has to ULTRA HYPER REALISTIC for anyone to take it seriously? Is it really that hard to suspend your disbelief when it comes to holstering your weapon?

I see where you're coming from, but I'd much, much rather have a ludicrously impractical weapon on my back (this is in the sort of game where you can casually stand around holding a massive two-handed axe in one hand, after all) than have my character pull the weapon out of his ass.

It's not just you that's wondering about that...listen closely when you play those games...when you are running down the roads at full speed in plate armor for hours with 10 swords, 3 dragon heads, 10000 gold, 2 shields, 121 potions, a table for your house, some cheese for your mouse and a horse in your pocket...you can hear the peasants go "Wonder how he keeps that sword stuck to his back"
