Mass Effect combat is flawed, and far from perfect but it's way more functional than you're making out. Stop trying to play it like Gears of War.
But it's important all games play the same so we don't have to think about them or act creatively or something. If I can't play this game like every other game, it's obviously broken.

Possibly dota. Not the mechanics themselves or people playing badly because they are new but the assholes who get all worked up about it.
I usually don't quit but spend a lot more time than I should sabotaging the idiot yelling obscenities at the noob on our team.

aiming is a fucking joke especially with a sniper rifle that does stay still and when you have a clear aim, the gun just moves.
It's an RPG. Put points into sniper rifles. Crouch when aiming. Seriously, snipers become completely usable after maybe three or four levels.

It's also not really a cover shooter. If you absolutely need to be in cover, you're doing it wrong. Stick some shield battery upgrades in your armour, run around more, and for God's sake use CC powers. Not just yours either. Your squadmates are sodding useless, but they're at least good as an extra battery of powers. Just take Liara and Wrex and lift or singularity everything you see.

I've never played Gears of War so I have no clue how to play like it. Thanks for the advice though cause i worked out that I really have to level up my shields and armour so I don't get killed by one shot. I admit some squadmates are useless cause I had Kaiden shooting at the ceiling for 20 mins when i kept instructing him to DESTROY THAT FUCKING DRONE!!!. Then i get killed and Wrex is dead next to me.

Another point I must add. The FIFA series. I raged quit over that cause mostly the game would freeze and get me sent off for a tackle that weren't even worthy of attention. Funny thing is with its multi-player I wouldn't rage quit but get seriously annoyed at those who send me messages afterwards saying "hahaha u r shity plyr eva, fuk ov n die u shit at futbol". I know a troll is a troll but I don't play FIFA for 18 hours a day and build up a massive head. I've got other things to do. If i lose its not the end of the world.

A big part of it is also what class you play is. This is, of course, opinion, but I found soldier boring as shit and actually not as easy as all weapon and armour skills might suggest. Infiltrators might not get as heavy armour, but they still get the immunity power and they get electronics, which lets you boost your shields into the realms of deity. Adepts may only get light armour, but they get barrier, which is basically easy mode tanking once you've got a few points in it.

Trust me, after a couple of hours and some carefully invested skill points, you'll be dying less than you would in 2 or 3.

Yeah, ME1's biggest letdown is probably the AI. I will admit to feeling some frustration at entering generic warehouse map #2 and watching the enemy AI backpedal in figure of 8s around the room, firing and yelling at me, while my squadmates take up position either side of a door before proceeding to turn completely around and fire bursts into the wall.

And if it was fighting drones that made you rage quit, then I take everything back. Those swarms of rocket drones on the Luna mission are OP as shit, and not at all fun to fight as. Especially if you don't have access to overload and sabotage. The shitty, next to useless autosave feature is another great cause of rage quits.

I also apologise for the Gears of War comment, it feels like an appeal to the lowest common denominator of petty insults, and I also completely missed the fact you'd already played 2 and 3. It is, I would think, actually pretty reasonable to expect the first game to play similarly.

That Bionic Commando reboot that came out a few years ago. I loved the original on the NES (in my top 5 NES list for sure) but the reboot was so badly made. The mechanics were a mess and the levels were so incredibly lame. I'm pretty sure it was my shortest rental, back in the mailbox within 2 hrs.

Now if you want to go back to those NES games I can give you a long list of games you will ragequit: Castlevania, any Ninja Gaiden, Punch Out.......
And those are just a few of the good games, the ones that worked properly.

Nah its cool don't worry about it. Yeah its the drones that made me rage quit cause I don't have sabotage and the only squad mate that I took with me that has it is Kaiden but he's too busy shooting at the ceiling using a shit pistol cause he isn't trained yet to use a sniper or rifle or shotgun. I should've taken Tali with me or Liara or both. Worse thing is just when I think I have gotten all of the rocket drones, another spawns out of nowhere and kills me. Is it infinite spawn or something or just a cliche?

The autosave is piss taking and why can't i skip certain scenes? I don't want to keep replaying it every time i die. I've taken a break from it and will get back to it tomorrow with a different strategy. But thanks for the advice.

Recently on the Ratchet and Clank trilogy, many a times during the first game because you couldn't fucking strafe.
Ah yes, the lack of strafe and quick select pause. Quite a shock when I moved from 2 to 1.

For me, I don't like Dark Souls for it's lack of pause menu. I accept its uncompromising difficulty, I don't particularly like its missing tutorial about fortifying the camp fire, etc.
I will not support a game that does not acknowledge that it is not special. I have friends, dammit!
Or, failing that: I have a phone, dammit!

I can't find anybody random to battle in Pokemon that gives a shit about strategy. I can remember seeing the team preview and just rage quitting at the sight of it. This fucker had 5 dragons and a Magnezone. I knew what was coming next. He's just going to spam Outrage with every single one of them like a brainless twit. I can't tell you how Magnezone fits in there at all. I guess you could say that magnezone resists dragon, the x4 weakness to ground and x2 weakness to fire isn't really going to work. I can say right now that alot of dragon types carry fire and ground type moves for coverage.

shit pistol
The pistol is actually the best weapon in the game in terms of dps. The active can be used 100% of the time I believe, when it is maxed.

Edit: Oh shit, I totally forgot Ass Creed III, the glitchiest game I've ever played. Here's a tip for Ubisoft: If you're going to make additional objectives for the player to increase the games challenge, it generally helps when your shitty fucking game recognises when those objectives are met.
They sold 12 million copies of it, so I'm almost excited to see how buggy the next entry in the series will be. Maybe they'll really push the envelope and try to ship a game that doesn't boot at all.

OP: I'm trying to remember the last time I really rage quit something. For the most part, I'm very analytical when I game; if something doesn't work, I try to figure out why and change up my approach. This sees me through most games. Typically, if a game is thwarting me for any extended period of time, I knew full well what I was getting myself into beforehand.

Also, you're doing it wrong. You play biotic in ME1 and sniper/soldier in ME2. I know that's not a legit response, but damn did I hate abandoning my badass biotic wrecking ball for just another gun-toting space marine. Balance is a harsh mistress.
