So I've been listening to a lot of rap recently and I want some interesting artists I haven't listened to before. So this is a topic where you can discover new music in the rap and hip hop genre.

I personally recommend Aesop Rock's albums such as Labor Days and None Shall Pass - he's an excellent rapper with often cryptic and surrealistic lyrics. His flows melt into the well-sampled beats and he has some insane lines.

I'm going to kick this thread off right. With Digital Underground and Immortal Technique.

Immortal Technique - The 4th Branch; EXCELLENT political rapper from Brooklyn.

Digital Underground - The Humpty Dance; Yeah, I know this ain't exactly KVLT, but this song is stupid awesome. Listen to it again.

EDIT:

Dude, your post reminded me of this Cracked article: http://www.cracked.com/blog/4-famous-authors-their-hip-hop-equivalents/
Like, seriously. There is a line that is almost identical to what you said somewhere in that article.

Check out Odd Future, I saw them at their first Ireland gig, it was insane. I've been in pits for everyone from Metallica to Mastodon...but it was insane.

I don't like rap much, but Hip-Hop is cool. I'm mainly into old Electro and Glitch-hop.

Here's one of my favorite songs.
