Title is pretty self explanitory. I really like rap but I found what most rappers talk about to be quite boring now so what rappers can you think of that have a little more originality. I like alot of Eminem's stuff and an artist called Cecil Otter who I was reccomended by a fellow escapist.
EDIT: Thanks Ldude983 I forgot to mention Gorillaz, they are hands down my favourite rap music however I always consider them Britpop/hip-hop (Brithop perhaps?).

Several songs by the Gorillaz include rap that doesn't have to do with sex, drugs and gangs. "Superfast Jellyfish" and "Clint Eastwood" for example.

Yeah it isnt the artform that is the problem, its the content.

For example, What you hear that is considered rap from the UK is infinitely more diverse, and coversely better than the mass produced garbage from the US.

Clint Eastwood isnt about drugs?!?! Wow.. i thought the whole "sunshine in a bag" was a reference to a dime bag for like the last decade.

It was a reference to the ending of a Clint Eastwood film where Clint's character was riding off with a bag of gold.

Cool! I would also like to be the first in this thread to bring up the incredible Aesop Rock!

Enjoy!
The best pirate song in the history of Man, since you are a pirate at least.

Anyways, there's plenty of rap music which isn't about that shit. It's just mainstream music which is about "bitchez and hoes" etc.
Jurassic 5 -> Chali 2na, Aesop Rock as was said, Akala, Atmosphere, Busdriver...these have all got insane lyrical flow, fantastic lyrics and are definitely worth checking out.
Also, Eminem = terrible :(

I know all that you said in the title, I just don't like it, mainly because I like instrumentals.

I do give support to indie rappers on YouTube who make hilarious videos on it.

Rap WASN'T about those things, sadly it's become about those things. I LOVE the old Rap and HipHop, and people are shocked to hear me say that cause I've also always loved metal and have played guitar for most of my life. But the new rap stuff I just can't stand... It is rubbish, I'm not going into detail because I'm sick and tired of discussing it.
