Rare Games: Have you found/bought any recently?

Not recently. But I re-found a copy of Conquer's Bad Fur Day that I had lost for some time.

Anyway, spyro the dragon. I STILL play it. (number 2 was the best)

I've checked the Playstation Store and Spyro the Dragon isn't there. I also play Spyro heaps, never gets old for me.

LOL sucks to have a European psp. But like seriously, why did you get the european? I bought mine from america and it plays all the pal disks just fine and I can connect too the american psn store and download those just fine too when I'm in greece and not in school in america

Actually I do have a PS3 and I access the store from there. And I bought my PS3 in Asutralia where I live, so I assume it's the European version? But yeah anyway there are in fact no Spyro games in the Store if I remember correctly. Very sad.

I got Parasite Eve at a flea market for 10 bucks a good number of years ago. Then, of course, I traded it to a friend of mine for Spyro 2. HAET.

Also saw the PS1 port of Diablo at a yard sale this summer for 5 bucks. Guess what I had on me? My credit card. No cash. Yeah, you could say that I was a little unhappy.

Heart of Darkness and Tekken 2: Both pre-owned PS1 games that set me back £10 a piece. Well worth it.

lol I got Heart of darkness from a cash converters for 50p it was in amazing nick aswell.

I don't think you missed out on Diablo for the playstation, but man parasite eve for spyro 2. Why? Just why?

I was in my Local CEX today (for everyone who isn't British, CEX sells practically anything technological, bad thing is everything is pre-owned)

I was looking at the Gamecube section when i found a game i thought i would NEVER see in any shop.

Pokemon: XD Gale of Darkness.

i bought it for £22 (the most expensive Gamecube game in the shop, all the others were not even past a 10er) and this got me thinking.

What rare games have you seen in a shop? Did you buy it? Was it worth it?

I've bought Chrono Trigger and Cross on eBAY, I also got the FFVIII PC port back in the day and I don't think it exists anymore.

There's one I'm looking for on the cheap but can't find it: Lost Kingdoms 1/2 for Gamecube. The thing can't be worth more than $10-15

Of course it set me back nearly $130 Australian (actually slightly cheaper than what I usually see it for) so there's probably a few of you thinking I'm not much of a winner.

TOMBI! Mannn I remember the days when young me spent hours playing around on the demo.... Never did get the the whole game in the end. :'(

OT: I do have Tombi 2 though, that I got a little while ago. More than makes up for the lack of the first.

Project Zero (Fatal Frame for those not in the PAL territories). £10 from the CEX website, actually. If it's in good condition when it arrives I think I'll get the third game from there too since it's pretty rare. They don't have the second available to sell.

I also remember looking for Tales of Vesperia over a year ago and ended up shelling out £45 for a brand new copy, the same with Persona 4 (I got it right after finishing Persona 3 so was desperate to get it while I could).

You found persona 4 Pal version? you lucky son of a... I would buy a PS2 if I can ever find that game.

I've got the xbox version of project zero 2 so I've got one up on you aswell.

I bought a copy when it first came out

Amazon is really handy for that sort of thing. I was overjoyed when I finally managed to get a European Tales of Symphonia game.
(I used to have an American one and used a Freeloader disc to run it, but then nintendo released a patch on the wii that stopped all that...)

I don't know whether it's just being petty or not, but I almost feel like having Amazon, eBay, etc. at your fingertips to acquire any game ruins the "thrill of the hunt" that comes with finding rare games.
It's not as exciting as finding a game you never thought you'd see in the bargain bin in a game shop.

That's not a rare game, you can buy it almost everywhere if they sell PS2 games. I found 3 copies of Infection at an FYE last month. I own all 7 games released in America so I didn't pay attention to it.

I wouldn't know about in the US, but in sweden they essentially dont exist.

I'm not sure if it qualifies as a rare game, but it took me some searching to find the freaking thing on the net. No torrents or anything, just a direct download. So worth it, though.
