After reading about that guy getting 31K for a copy of Air Raid I decided to look through the old collection of SNES games I had sitting in a cabinet. I didn't find any super rare games and most probably aren't even worth the plastic and circuitry that their made out of, but (using eBay as a reference point) I found that the copy of Alien VS. Predator I have is worth around 20-30 bucks. Considering it has a sticker on it saying 2 for $5 night it's not bad.

Then there where the obscure titles that where worth less then I thought they would be, like Mecarobot Golf (yeah it's a game about androids that play golf) or Jeopardy Deluxe Edition.

So what are those old game you have that may save you from abject poverty one day?

Fanklok wants to know if anyone is looking for a copy of Mecarobot Golf or Jeopardy Deluxe Edition

My friend has the gun for the SNES. I didn't even KNOW there was a gun for that.

My husband has a great deal of N64 games, and NES/SNES games. I wonder how much Megaman 2 goes for... *searches* Meh, like $17.
I can't think of any other games that he has at the moment.

I still have a working atari lynx with seven games. They are probably all rare by now. A week after I bought the system new, it was taken out of stores.

I have a super scope, but it doesn't' work any more :( We tried Battle Clash, Yoshi Safari and Metal Combat. none of them worked.

I'm positive you spelled Duck Hunt wrong, three times no less.

But seriously they actually made that for games? Whoda thunk it.

I have a few rare PS1 and PS2 games, but untimately, I haven't been collecting long enough to have a big-bucks game. I have an Atlus game, those are always going to be rare, and I have a few jap-to-US games that sell pretty high here because of how they were marketed (Bundle packs). But honestly, I don't see why a game needs to be rare. Atlus ALWAYS makes their games limited thanks to their marketing campaign and releasing as few in the series as possible, but a game is simply data encoded on a disc. You would figure that the game companies would release a great number of a game and make more money.

AND I CAN'T FIND ICO ANYWHERE FOR A GOOD PRICE! DARN YOU RARE RELEASES!

Ah, that has been one of my grievances for years. Until I found a gamestore where they miraculously had a few copies lying around for ?10...

Same with Shadow of the Colossus, looked around for half a year before I finally found it. And oh yeah, spent a couple of months looking for MGS3: Subsistence. All not insanely rare, but still difficult to find if you want 'em.

[edit] Oh, and Okami too. Took me some time to track it down. Maybe because I was a bit late to the system.

Some of my rarest games would be a NA PSX copy of Valkyrie Profile (complete in perfect condition), or maybe Castlevania: Legends for the GB (also complete and perfect condition).

I don't think CV:L is anywhere near as rare or easily destroyed, but it is pretty hard to find sometimes. VP is easily one of my most valuable games though. lol

Really, when I heard about how much everyone loved it I went down to my local Gamestop scanned the rows of games till I found S and bout it for $15, and I'm pretty sure they still have a few copies in there too.
