Okay, so we all know about Rareware as a gaming developer, but my conversation with a friend lead me to think about this and I honestly have not played a bad rare game, and just to let you know I have played:
Donkey kong country 1,2,3 and 64
Starfox adventures
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Diddy Kong Racing
Banjo-kazooie
Banjo-tooie,
Banjo-kazooie nuts and bolts
viva Pinata (didn't LIKE it but it wasn't by any means BAD)
Can you guys think of a BAD rareware game?

It wasn't a good Banjo game, but it wasn't bad.

OT: Nothing from Rareware, but once they became Microsoft's Kinect monkey they basically died.

I haven't played one they made that I hated, but I did want to come on here and say I don't look forward to the Star Fox Adventures hate.

Yeah, it wasn't traditional Star Fox. Nor was it even particularly original. But it was a dang good game; well-designed, interesting, and some of the best graphics on the Gamecube. Also, it's not the reason the Star Fox series has gone downhill; that's because Rare isn't making it anymore. So I get annoyed whenever people say Adventures sucked just because it wasn't the same as other Star Fox games, and I get annoyed when people say it took the series in a bad direction, because it really didn't.

Viva Pinata 2: Trouble in Paradise.

Laziest excuse for a sequel I've ever seen in my opinion. If it was DLC for the first game, then I wouldn't mind at all.

Sure there were a few new pinatas, plus some minigames. But other then that, nothing about this game is very different from the first. They even recycled lines from the first game!

I was generally a fan of theirs on SNES and N64, but I during that era I was let down by Perfect Dark and Donkey Kong 64. PD I finished in a long forgettable sitting, and I completely lost interest in DK64 about halfway through, so I guess I would have to consider those bad games.

You need to get Goldeneye, Perfect Dark and their spiritual successor Timesplitters on the go my friend, some of the most awesome FPSs to come out of gaming! Two direct from Rare, one from another group made out of people from Rare!

It confuses me how such a good developer could become Microsoft's kinect war-horse. You'd think that Microsoft would just let them make their own way ip wise and sign them up like Sony did Naughty dog wise.

Banjo-Kazooie was one of the games that got me and many others into gaming.

Didn't they make Grabbed by the Ghoulies for the original Xbox?
Yes, they did, and it was fucking terrible.

Which is what I was going to suggest.

Outside of that horrible pile of crap though, I don't think they've made many if any other 'bad' games, just mediocre ones.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Beetlejuice, and A Nightmare on Elm Street on the NES, as well as The Amazing Spider-Man and Beetlejuice on the Gameboy.

Oh yeah... They did make some of those movie games. I believe that was partnered with LJN. Coincidence..?

Can't really comment on the gameboy one as I don't play handhelds much.

What do you mean, "anymore"? Star Fox Adventures was the only game in the franchise that Rare made...

And to add to that, the only reason it was even Star Fox themed is because Nintendo figured it would sell better with a franchise brand name.

Otherwise, the game was originally known as Dinosaur Planet until they mixed in Star Fox characters late in the development cycle.

We should really focus on pre-microsoft Rare, since the most important developers from Rare are all gone now.
