My point is that a review is supposed to give you not just opinions, but opinions based on strengths and weaknesses of the subject matter opposed to personal taste. Case in point: I absolutely hate Country, but I can give a good review of country song regardless of whether or not I like it based on its own merits, yet I can still cast it in a negative light if it uses the same half dozen chords and cliched lyrics about the illusion of love symbolized by loose women that catch your fancy because they buy into redneck/imitation-cowboy culture. But that's what a review is, not "It sucks because it's country", but rather "It tries and succeeds to do a few things, but in the end it sucks because every other song of this genre is trying to do the same things." After all, do you really think anyone would watch Yahtzee if he just made a 10 second video: "This game sucks, you'll be disappointed." Even his Fallout 3 review, which used that style of review for comedic effect, expanded upon the positive and negative points of the game.Totenkopf said:But a review is in general heavily influenced by the taste of the writer, so there's not that much difference, or am I wrong... however, I'll try to write more detailed, if you mean that.mugetsu37 said:First off, this is silly: most people aren't posting reviews, they're just sharing their personal opinions and tastes with relation to the music.
8/10 Love the slower start and the progression half way through. Amazing drum work and perfect riffs.Totenkopf said:Godflesh - Nihil

It creates a really awesome atmosphere. I like how the vocals are mixed to a rather subtle level, but they are a little bit too in the background in my point of view. The guitar has a nice screeching sound, and the noise is pretty good too. Unfortunately I couldn't find the lyrics on the web.
