6/10 I liked how it started out, but didn't really like the singer or much of the rest of it really...

4/10 that was weird... not because of the music... but because it simply didn't feel like music... despite the instruments and singing if I heard this song out of the context of the video I wouldn't have even thought it was a song...


It bothers me when they sing it in english and simply say lalala... it's supposed to go Pedro De Lara...<.<

also the general has a great voice for being an actual military general...

That was a Guzheng in there by the way... there is a simple guitar track in the mix somewhere but the lead instrument wasn't a guitar...It was one of these...<.<

7/10 pretty good... didn't hate it but it felt a bit anime openingish...<.<

Oh, okay, my mistake. I thought I heard something like a koto but wasn't sure what it was, so I just went with the guitar. Now I know.

Anyway 8/10 Surprisingly catchy. It had this simple, easygoing 50s surf rock vibe, which I kinda liked.

8/10 quite beautiful... The subdued vocals really brought it together...


Love the guitar tones on this album... god knows how he makes his guitar so meaty and still keep the jangly natural high end that the 50's Jazzmaster's medium out put pickups put out...<.<

4/10 you know how I feel about the pillows but that's one of my least favorite songs if not my least favorite... it just doesn't live up to a lot of the other work by the Pillows... the singer is out of place and awkward, the instrumentals were boring and static and the song was just overall boring lacking any spark or edge... it's much too clean and formulaic to rock but too pop rocky and contrived to have emotional pulls...

9/10 and there's the Pillows I love so much... like a cross between the Pixies, Oasis, Blur, a Nirvana B Side and a bit of Dinosaur Jr. influence at the end there with the overuse of the flanger mixed with slow and wide chorus and high gain effect... all together goddamned awesome...<.<
