7/10. Still unsure about what that is.
Start with something like Clannad. Good Comedy, Drama, Story, not your typical high school anime that goes on for 6 seasons; 2nd season lets the characters actually develop. If you ever thought that animes wouldn't make you cry, think again. The illusionary world may be confusing and you'll likely struggle to figure out it's relevance, until around episode 17-ish where you make a small connection, and episode 22 of Season 2 that explains EVERYTHING. Don't expect to understand some things right away. It confused me at first too.
You might want to try some other staples like Death Note, Code Geass, and Haruhi Suzumiya, if you don't mind the extremely confusing order of the episodes.
