I bought Guitar Hero Aerosmith for the guitar.

It's just like Guitar Hero 3 except with an Aerosmith skin, but that's a good thing. I give it an 8 because I haven't played it much but what I have played is the same old Guitar Hero with new songs. Really, I don't know how to review a game like that...

I last bought Prince of Persia, The Sands of Time. I don't know how to rate it yet, because I haven't had a lot of time to play it, but I still want to rate it pretty high, because it's really good, even at the beginning.

Metroid Prime...

At the moment I'd have to give it a 6. I love the other side-scrolling Metroids but I don't think it jumped into 3D very well. The controls are pretty good, the graphics are nice but it's just so irritating... I have no idea of what I'm supposed to be doing, the game just kicked me into the game world and said "go on then, complete the game" with barely a kind word or a hint.

I might make a follow-up post when I get any further.
That's the idea of the game- exploration. There is a "hint" option that'll tell you where to go if you've been wandering around on the wrong side of the map for 1/2 an hour, but it's more fun to just get lost in the alien world that is Tallon IV.

Little King's Story
RTS/RPG where you play as a young king on a quest for world domination. A few minor flaws (such as AI pathfinding) but the amount of character the game has makes up for it. 4/5

Star Wars: Force Unleashed. Brought due to needing a linear, story-based game. 5.5 out of 10. It's ugly, the AI is awful, the force powers feel limited and it's not hard, in the slightest.

Also technically Mass Effect, since I re-brought it after getting rid of it early last year. 9 out of 10, a damned good quality game.

Last game I bought? Christ, that was a long while back. Think it might have been Half Life for the PS2. 6/10, mainly because of how screamingly stupid/difficult it can get at points and how glitchy & stupid/difficult the last part became (it came to the point when everything was going through the Niliathian, including me)

Last game I got was Ghostbusters: The Video Game. 9/10, easily one of if not the funniest game I've ever played. Has a great story & is extremely fun to play.

Left 4 dead, At first it was 9/10

After doing the campaign and versus mode 20 times and getting killed by team mates and being ironically Left for dead by them... it dropped to a simple 1/10. Good game, Until you meet the online community or the AI director.

I just picked up Psychonauts for the PS2 since a copy floated into our stock at work. I have been hearing so much good press for this game, and with Brutal Legend on the horizon, I wanted to reacquaint myself with Tim Schafer's work.

Off the bat, I'm in love with the presentation. The game is impeccably written, excellently acted, and the art design is inspired. My only complaint thus far is that the platforming is a little spotty, which for a *platformer* can be kind of a big deal. However every time I feel myself about to raise an objection, the game turns around and endears itself to me all over again.

And the elements put into the gameplay tenets! Emotional baggage? figments of the imagination as collectibles? Mental cobwebs that need cleaning? it's fantastic! It makes me sad I missed the boat on Grim Fandango.

I highly recommend tracking a copy of Psychonauts down and trying it out for yourself if you haven't already.

The game I most recently purchased is Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time for the NDS. However, I cannot rate it now, as I haven't played it yet. I expect it to be wonderful, of course, as I've always enjoyed the Mario RPGs.

The title I bought before that is the NDS port of Chrono Trigger. This, I can review:

REVIEW: It's Chrono Trigger, for god's sake.

SCORE: Its majesty cannot be quantitatively measured.

Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals
2/10, because it suckered me into buying it by being on sale on Steam while simultaneously sucking royally. I'm sure that if you liked games like Myst and Riven that you'd love this game. But I didn't. Not by a long, long shot.
It made me feel stupid by killing me eighty bajillion times when I encountered the first monster, and made me feel even stupider when I couldn't get past the 3rd puzzle without a walk through.
So there you go. The idiot gives it a 2, because at least it looks kind of nice.

Call of Duty World at War

Reason for getting: On sale looked good

Rating: Bloody awesome, I didn't expect the single player to be so much fun and Nazi zombies is a blast to play and I haven't even tried it online yet. (waiting to play with a friend or something I never liked playing with random people, it seems to rarely work when you need co-op.)

Running into Nazi territory, japanese run at you with bayonets drawn, screaming "bonzai!" while you cut their limbs off neatly with a trench shotgun, picking Nazi heads off with a sniper rifle with a deranged, jaded Russian, burning down fields of grass with Japanese soldiers thinking they're going to ambush you. And when you get bored of killing Nazis (and allies of) you can kill Nazi Zombies, very happy with my purchase (thanks goes out to a few escapests who gave it a thumbs up) and even more so since it was on sale for 50% off on steam and came with the new map packs/zombie levels for FREE.
