OK then:

1 FONV/FO3. I just can't decide between them. FO3 had more initial wow factor, better atmosphere and a setting that appealed to me more, but NV had more longevity with the different factions, more in depth companions etc.

3. Oblivion. It's...it's like a DnD world brought to life that I can explore for myself at my own pace!

4. Neverwinter Nights. Only top down (isometric?) non ARPG I've ever liked until very recently, but I liked it so much it kept me buying others for years on the of chance they were as enjoyable.

5. Skyrim. Like Oblivion but the world did very little for me and fuck the chosen one bullshit.

6. Guild Wars. Nice take on Western fantasy. Familiar, but different enough to be interesting. I even remember the story quite well. Then they brought out the expansions that focussed on an Eastern styled fantasy nation/area and then an African one. Was great to see something different even if I didn't finish either of the expansions.

7. Guild Wars 2. An improvement in many ways over one, graphically, mechanically etc but the story felt far less compelling and didn't reintroduce the Eastern/African settings.

8. Neverwinter. Nicely actioney. The main story has a small well created world, more like a single player RPG, which is basically how I played it, so it suited me fine. Could have done with a lot more variation in the look of your stuff though.

Really now we're getting into "it was OK" territory. Stuff that maybe had one or 2 things about it I liked but generally fell down for various reasons.

9. Neverwinter Nights 2. Felt clunky and buggy as shit, had to restart this fucking game about 4 or 5 times and in the end just gave up. Buuuut...I actually liked most of the characters. Khelgar, Qara, Sand, Neeshka. Always in party.

10.Er...dunno...Maybe Shadowrun, primarily because it took me back to playing CP2020 PnP when I was a kid.

8. Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door
Think you missed the text for that entry. Though on a more positive note:
Maybe the game was so amazing I simply had no words to describe it?

(also, whoops - always forget one when I'm doing an expanded list, thanks for the catch!)

6. Xenoblade Chronicles

Great story, fun characters, good voice acting, great graphics and a final boss that's just amazing to battle. It's a hell of a long game (100ish hours for my first playthrough, ignoring most side quests) but damn is it a good game to go through - sadly most of the sidequests suck ass, either being basic fetch quests, horribly underleveled or leading into a boss fight against a monster 80 levels higher than you. Main story more than makes up for it though, thank god.
Hah, caught you! No-one who played Xenoblade would be thanking gods for anything. ;P

But, yeah, this pretty much sums up my thoughts on the game, right down to the playtime. I'm a bit more reciprocal to the sidequests though - a lot of them are "fetch/kill x number of y," but there are a few standouts, such as the Emmy Leater plot thread or when you have to kill Tyrea's mother.
Well, I would've thanked the Monado, but I feel that would've been classified as a spoiler... :p

There certainly were a few solid side quests, it's just... damn, there were so many 'fetch x/kill y' quests. So many. Plus it really didn't help with the whole 'wildly varying levels' with things - I remember doing a handful of quests in some like, level 20 area that then led to a bunch of level 75 enemies, with the quest before it being a level 23 quest. Plus the various questlines (including some you weren't warned about if you didn't backtrack like a champion) that got cut off at story points... yeah.

On the plus side, going through on a second playthrough it's a lot easier to avoid all the shitty 'get 5 of ultra-rare pickup item' quests and just get all the good story ones.
