Damn you, PS3 tech demo - you're such a tease.

Dunno if it would really need a remake though, it still looks pretty nice.

Are we talking about taking a game and remaking it with crisper textures and stuff but leaving the graphics more or less intact? If so, System Shock 2.
... um, YES!emeraldrafael said:So, considering that, do you really want that remastered, drawn out, and made into one of those obscenely long Xenosaga cutscene lengths, where developers show off all their details and draw it out?
I absolutely agree that some people do take it a bit far but it is still their own opinion. Personally I do not like RPGs never have, but I like FF7 for one reason only, the story. Games to me are all about immersion, think about the best game you have ever played and think about how involved you got with the game. That is exactly how I got with FF7, I am not saying this is my favorite game but it sure does have a great story that you can lose yourself in. To me a game is good if you can lose yourself in it and I would love for a game like that to be remastered so it can be retold over and over again.emeraldrafael said:No... Its not that. Its hard to explain without looking like I'm trolling.goodwithwords08 said:Snip
To me, FF7 was kinda meh. I mean, it was high end Meh, but it was Meh. And the whole iconic, OMG, SEPHIROTH KILLED AERIS NOES!!1!!1 just didnt impact me. I mean, it did, but not on the level that I hear people tlak about. To them, that was like Old Yeller getting put down. That was their childhood dying. Now, considering that, and how people of that generation talk up FF7 for more then it was, and how it was the greatest thing to hit RPGs since the first RPG gave me a bad taste in FF games and somewhat marked then end of them. So, considering that, do you really want that remastered, drawn out, and made into one of those obscenely long Xenosaga cutscene lengths, where developers show off all their details and draw it out? Or to make a new generation of kids who will do that again?
Arguably, its better then the generation now that says CoD and Halo is the shit and nothing is better then fragging a n00b and cursing them out with slurs because no one knows who they are (I'm starting to believe that anonimity is for their benefit, not ours), but not by alot.
So, without tryingt to sound like I'm trolling, or elitist, or whatever else anyone wants to call me, its not that I hate FF or FF7 in particular, i just dislike the people it creates. Some of my favorite RPGS are FF3, FF6, and FF9 (I know).
Oka, I get that. I dont know, like I siad, its not a bad game. But I just see it as a way for the FF people to shove more melodrama between aeris and Cloud and Sephiroth and thats something that the game definitely can do with out. But then again, I'm in the minority.goodwithwords08 said:Snip
No, that's fine. To each their own and all that.emeraldrafael said:Same as the Xenosaga games. So its not that I'm knocking them and saying they're bad, just that there's a lot of filler and stuff that doesnt need to be there and makes it seem sappy. Without them, the story would seem a bit better (though I'm not sure what you'd take out, I havent played either series in years since I finsihed and and when i started picking up Persona games, which are what immerse me).
bUt I'll leave this alone. I dont want to start an argument.
everytime i see this i get freaking pissed off that its not already out.Suilenroc said:sorry to do this to you but...goodwithwords08 said:I did not know that but I would agree that is such a tease...........*cries in a corner*Suilenroc said:especially after that cock-tease that PS3 hardware demo. holy crap, i've found someone who is as addicted to that game as i am.Radeonx said:KotOR, without question.
I've beaten it over 50 times, and I'd buy it again if it was made in HD and made to run smoother.
So friggin' creepyFr said:anc[is]System Shock 2. It would make every modern 'horror' game cry
Rumor has it that this may already be on the way. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/114/1147863p1.htmlJezzascmezza said:I know it's possibly in the works, but the original Halo would be great with HD graphics, and a maybe some multiplayer over Live.
I've never actually played the entire game before, just a few levels here and there at various friend's houses, so a CE remake would suit me just fine.
I'd prefer Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. But trilogies are being rereleased so perhaps all 3 of the Legacy games would be nice.electric method said:Legacy of Kain: Defiance or Kotor. Both games would have new life breathed into them and newer folks to gaming would get a pair of outstanding games.
