I had a lot of fun with it, even though it doesn't feel like Resident Evil anymore and hasn't since the original three.

I wish there was a sharing system instead of both players being able to pick up the same item.

I only had time to run through Leon's part of the story (As Leon), but the demo was super short. I guess it makes up for it by having the three separate stories, but...it made me sad. They do let you play with other people in the demo though, which I found surprising. Especially because of the aforementioned shortness.

I'm definitely getting the game though. Haven't missed an RE game yet, and I don't plan on starting now.
Well, I've only played one; but this is something the Anthology will shortly remedy.
Just a forewarning: The people who say that the 'actionification' that ruined the RE series started with RE4? They're crazy. Resident Evil started becoming action-y starting at Resident Evil 2, with the infinite ammo SMG that could be gotten at the beginning of the game and the unlockable Extreme Battle Arena (Yes, it was actually called that).

it was alright. I wouldnt call it resident evil anymore though. The zombies in leons campaign took waaaay to many headshots the kill them though (2-5).

The Leon campaign was promising but just ended up being stupid. The fact that you can't shoot a corpse that's so obviously going to become a zombie until the game decides it's time to "ACTIVATE SCARY ZOMBIE MOMENT" is just dumb and frustrating. It's a real immersion breaker when you know the only way you can find out if the corpse is actually a zombie or not is to let it bite your feet first. Also that QTE event towards the end where you have to find the keys was just horrible. Having to press 'A' at the right time to open the glove compartment to find out there's no keys in there is just not a fun gaming activity.

The Chris campaign was by far the worst. A dull, boring shooting gallery with terrible enemy AI.

The Jake campaign didn't last for too long with me as I had pretty much given up by then so I let one of the giant brown spiky lizard monsters kill me. I enjoyed that part the most.

Overall, I found the demo utterly boring. The controls are flimsy, the camera is massively unruly and the weapon targeting is horrid. The multiple mutations thing is a neat concept but in practice it's just frustrating as you pump bullets into an enemy, wait for a lengthy transformation animation to complete and then shoot it again. It's just not fun.

I was actually looking forward to this game earlier this year. But now I'm put right off. Although I still have a soft spot for some of the characters in the Resident Evil series so I might pick it up for cheap sometime in the future.

Did I miss the scary part? Is there a scary part?

If the demo is supposed to be a representation of the game, then RE6 looks like a dull, boring, non scary "horror game". Hell, I've been more scared in fucking L4D2 than I was in the demo. $60 on that? Nah, I'm good.

i was no impressed at all. only played the leon part and a little part of the jake guy, but i was not impressed. QTE's that we or way to fast or stupidly slow. a laser dot who wanted to see more of the world and doesn't stand still and the fact i can't shoot obvious zombies who aren't dead and waiting on me to act.

i never had bought a resident evil game, but i had some interest in them. this game is really not helping me liking the series.
Resident Evil 4 was sooo good. Definitely should check it out. It's on pretty much everything out now too, so no reason not to if you're interested in it.

And yeah, this was disappointing (Although not terribly surprising after Resi 5). There was absolutely no tension at any point in the demo. Run to this place, shoot some dudes, then run to the next place, wait for the AI companion to stop tripping on things, open 2 person door, go to next place.

I still remember the opening walk in Resident Evil 4, before you get to the Village. Nothing had even happened yet, but all the sounds (and absence of sounds), and the stuff like the skulls and the pitchforked woman in the shed still freaked the hell out of me as a kid. And then the Village happened and justified every moment of terror that came before.

There was none of that in this, and so I don't expect to get it.
yeah, i'm thinking of getting resident evil 4. so i want to know if the HD version you can get on XBLA is any good? is it just a shitty port or is it in fact the great game which people seem to love, with better textures?

Not sure about shitty or not, but as far as i know, its the PS2 version in HD, not the GameCube one.
But someone correct me if im wrong.

Cant shoot or stomp obviously dead zombies, aiming sucks, have to play "dumb" in cutscenes/scripted events. Worst offender is the graphics, low res textures abound even in such static small environments, if a game needed some AA it was this one(jaggies everywhere). a camera that is better than 4 but still intentionally awkward, kicking zombies is kind of iffy(sometimes mega awesome kick others he like kicks their shins for .001 damage)

Also whats with the staggering over dead bodies, seriously in a room with two "dead" about to be triggered zombies, he just kept staggering over them like he forgot how to walk.

And a game in 2012 I just heard the line "i've got a bad feeling about this".....

I liked 4 but dang that was bad.

I absolutely loved the demo. There were a number of bugs (which I attribute to the pre-release build warning at the start), but overall I had a lot of fun. Can't wait for the full version
