I got the game earlier today, and already beaten the Campaign, it's really short most of you veterans definitely could beat it in one setting. There are cameos here and there but i won't spoil you who you'd get to meet,The set pieces in this game are the same as every Halo, nothing new except the Space shooter part.

Though i don't play on XBL (Because little or nobody use it in my country) Splitscreen is still really fun, especially firefight, where i can customize our loadouts however we want(The golfclub was a ton of fun.)

Everyone should get Reach even if you're not a fan,or hate Halo, don't deny a good game. If you don't care about the story that's fine the story isn't really epic, and it ends with a downer ending (this isn't really a spoiler if you play Halo 3 before),but you'll have fun with Firefight and Multiplayer, I haven't touch forge yet,so no input on that.

*Edit: If you're curious,i manage to get that "cool store owner guy" to sell it to me early.

Halo: Reach; thank God! Finally, the true spiritual successor of the late, great Halo: Combat Evolved. This first impression is based on playing the first three campaign levels and spending a great deal of time looking through menus in awe of the new features.

I found the series' second and third installments slightly underwhelming. So far, Reach is a triumphant return to form. The enemies are challenging, quirky, and aggressive. The weapons all feel punchy, effective and satisfying- no more of that SMG 'buzza-buzza-buzza' bullshit left over from Halo 2. The sound effects, the explosions and visual effects, and that feeling you get when a Phantom bombards your face with lasers are all much more exciting as well. The look of the game is grittier and more realistic than Halo 3, which actually makes it more like the original. But the game also does not take itself too seriously, as there are funny, self-aware jokes throughout the game and menus. Most of the models of characters and weapons are much more unique and interesting than we have seen before. The story is engaging and presented well, though its quality seems somewhere between the original and the sequels. The in-game cut-scenes are second to none, except that the player's perspective is sometimes in first person and sometimes in third person during them, which may hurt immersion for some. Continuing on, I hope the story focuses not on the enormity of the events, which is boring, but on the way each character struggles through those events.

I have not yet tried multiplayer versus. But I have every reason to be hopeful. I'm already in love with the weapons, and the amount of multiplayer content is truly staggering. Between all the maps, all the map tools, all the new ways to play, all the new gametypes, huge customization, new weapons, new vehicles, an experience system rewarding you with cosmetic and other fun upgrades, an elaborate filesharing system, and the cure for cancer, it sounds like everybody ought to find something they like in Halo: Reach. But then, I won't know until I sit down with the multiplayer, will I?

This brings me to my one real complaint so far. The Forge, now more powerful than ever, is wasted without a server list that allows players to create and join custom games easily. Including Forge without a server list is like hiding the Mona Lisa in a closet where no one sees it. It's just a waste. Beside that, I would call this a great first impression, and Reach a much more fitting Halo finale than Halo 3.

I'll probably get Reach for Christmas. I need to save up form Sonic Colors, Raging Blast 2, and Sonic 4.
Stop buying DBZ games. I want people to boycott them until them make a DBZ rpg. Its the most obvious idea. The train/fight get stronger. Simple. Put a story around it with exploration (I grew tired of 1 on 1 battles) and there you go. It would be nice if it went from the original to GT. So we can see the evolution og Goku from child to grandparent.

BTW: Raging Blast 2 is almost identical to the first.

very tough actually I am on heroic, 4th level and fuck me is it solid. Multiplayer is tons of fun and I must say out of the 5 games I have played so far people are very mellow and the game is nice and balanced.

Over hyped, not worth it, same as always, bad story, and generic characters. Then again I'm probably one of the more noticed "Anti-Halo" people here.
You're only "noticed" because you make a point of going into every halo thread with the sole intention of flaming.

For christ's sake this is a first impressions thread, for people who have got the game, and yet you think it's perfectly ok for you to come in here, make unfounded stupid complaints and then justify it by calling yourself "anti-halo"?
No, I'm only noticed because idiots like you quote me and get offended.
The whole "Going into Halo threads and hating on the series, including the game that you probably haven't played yet regarding your unmitigated and generally unfounded hatred" thing probably helps.
I just hate any game with a fan base that could popular a medium sized country.
That's not a legitimate reason. It probably has a huge fanbase because... you know... It's good.

Well, I would like to watch the remake they have of Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans called Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans. It will be sub only but I don't mind.

Since i dont have an Xbox i shall judge it by watching the full game and its cutscenes through Youtube, i did the same thing for GoW on the Ps3. (...Err..God Of War)
No, No GOD OF WAR earned the GOW title. GEARS of WAR gets the 2nd tier GeOW. I'm making it my mission to let everyone know this. Plus if Kratos was ever told that Marcus and Dom stole his game abbreviation then lets just say that GeOW would have 2 new main characters....
Kratos and his brand-new Marcus Fenix hand puppet.

Immersive, with great narrative and a compelling story so far.

I love the multiplayer despite having to play 3 crappy game modes I don't like and having shitty team mates on 2 of them.

AI are pretty damn smart, and I constantly finding myself picking up the weapons I need for specific situations (DMR for long range while the assault rifle for medium)

Played the campaign. Fucking brilliant. I was playing at an idiotically fast pace and I still connected with the characters. So what are my first impressions? Awe and admiration.
