A friend of mine showed me it waaaay back, and the humor tickled my fancy. Been here ever since, albeit not on the forums until a couple months ago.

If I show it to people they like it if they like video games. Some people think it gets old. I sure don't.

I cant believe how many people are fixated on the idea that ZP is "going downhill" are there actually weirdos who didn't find this dialogue to be funny;
"Call of....JAUREZ!!! has 2 main characters, Thomas and Gerald, when you pick Thomas you move faster and shoot more accurately, when you pick Gerald you can pause, restart the game and PICK THOMAS, stupid!" Thats the kind of thing that makes him stand out from other reviewers.
Well some people didn't like a string of newer reviews, and thus call everything after it crap for a month or two, then they make asskisser comments during a 3rd month when they see the reviews after the review that they just hated. In my case, Ghostbusters. That review just seemed so laughably bad it seemed like he hadn't even played the game. Oh wait, he didn't, because Australia doesn't get it till November! But unlike other people, I tuned in every Wednesday to see what he did after, and he eventually climbed out of the hole he dug with reviews like Ghostbusters by being actually funny with Wii Sports Resort and Call of FWAREZ: Bound in Blood. So Yay Yahtzee for becoming funny again.
What's stopping the escapist from getting it for him online?
True, but my point still stands (sorta).

Its amusing that everyone thinks that ZP has gone down hill the only change i can see is that its allot more focused at the review i think it has improved, there is allot of high brow jokes and i have seen some sneaky references to yahtzee's own work such as characters from his old comics appearing as cameos ( the only one i can remember of the top of my head is from his wonderful end of the world review when he made a comment about the game being from a parallel universe the parallel yahtzee was the parallel yahtzee from his comic "yahtzee takes on the world" )

But anyway its not got worse at all and if your all judging the entire of the show just by when there was the last quotable joke then what they say about yahtzee fans is true.

I like it and still do, but everyone else takes it WAAAAAY to seriously and now don't like him because he's a bad reviewer. Newsflash: He's not a reviewer, he's fucking FUNNY!!!

I've been watching ZP since his YouTube videos, and I still find him just as funny as at first. I HAVE noticed that his reviews are strictly negative for big name games (Halo 3 or Fable 2, which he was obligated to say was crap, and was crap. Fallout 3 and Saints Row 2 were the very obvious exceptions). He points out all of the flaw while managing not to say one positive thing about the game. Which I find awesome.

it's based in british comedy.. which is a VERY subjective form of comedy.

Most people will hate it.

But you're preaching to the choir here.. we all love it.

The first ones on youtube I didn't like very much, the older ones on The Escapist are great, and the new ones are great as well.

As far as I know, everyone I've shown Zero Punctuation to has really liked it.

And personally I still quite enjoy it too, but it's usually much more fun if you haven't actually played the game in question yourself, because otherwise you'll soon realize how much Yahtzee is complaining about irrelevant details or almost entirely made-up flaws.

But then I enjoy Unskippable, and I don't think anyone I've linked that to has found it very funny.
Good sir, are you on crack? Made up complaints? I played and saw his reviews for Uncharted and inFAMOUS and they were both very accurate, as well as funny.
I'm sorry, your point is what? There's plenty of legitimate criticism, I've never denied that, but when there isn't enough to complain about in the game he reviews he'll go out of his way to find something he can make a joke about anyway.

Because Zero Punctuation is entertainment first, and review second.

I actually didn't like it at first because I couldn't understand what he was saying and try to read at the same time. I'm bad at multi-tasking. However my brother made me keep watching like every episode. Now I can't get enough of Yahtzee, now i've watched all of his stuff and read everything of course, great sense of humor he has.

Maybe it was SO funny that it broke his sense of humour! It likely happened so quickly that he didn't have time to even start laughing. Too bad... there's no known solution to breaking your sense of humour.

I love ZP. It takes such a refreshing and witty look at other games.

I love the way he actually places himself in the game scenario and acts embarrassed or confused or complexed.

I enjoy seeing his fresh material every week here. He's usually amusing, at least to me, and I appreciate the fact that he still manages to get new content up in a timely manner.

Is Zero Punctuation the greatest thing since sliced bread? Hell no. But I happen to like it, and you might as well. If you don't, well, that's your opinion, and you're entitled to it.

No matter how wrong you might be. ;)

It's wierd. Every single series I seem to like: Scrubs, The West Wing, and now ZP seems to have the same thing happen.

Some people start saying: its awesome but it starts going downhill. In none of these series have I ever noticed this. They're all awesome, all the time. That is my reaction.

Maybe it's possible that it is as awesome as it was on day one. Not many people seem to accept that kind of premise.

But yeah, I'd never use his videos to decide whether to buy a game, I love them for being parodies of those games. I think they're very well done, very quick humour.

Unskippable is good too.
