How many frames per second do you think is real life? I know it's constant... i think it's 1000 FPS...

I want to say the forbidden Internet meme, but I'll try to restrain myself.. For now.

I think its around 75 FPS on a good computer, but what engine does Real Life run on? CryEngine? If so, most computers (or minds, in this case) can only run Real Life on 10-25 FPS. Explains politicians. Heh.

Sorry, bad joke.

Idk, my rig is pretty obsolete. I run Life on lowest settings and 15 FPS. I've also been getting alot of glitches lately. Hopefully this is all cleared up once the new patch comes out.

We view Life through our eyes at a certain frame rate if that's what your asking, I think it's about 100 fps or something that we see at.

Life has no frames. At no point will it become still pictures when you slow down reality.

The human eye receives images at 30 FPS, when under extreme stress it can be increased to 60 FPS

I had to turn off the walking animations to achieve 15, I think it's time to upgrade, everyone just floats on the floor now.

*cough*bullshit*cough*

While its true that you can't really measure the speed of the human eye in frames per second, it's actually a good analogy. Your optic nerve does not just stay on when its stimulated, instead it rapidly generates action-potentials, just like all nerves do. In this way, you could suggest that one signal would mean one picture or frame that we see, but it's a bit more complicated than that.

Anyways, from what I understand, the maximum frames per second that the human eye will actually capture every frame, is somewhere between 120 and 180 depending on the person. It's possible to have lower or higher as well, as ever person's eyes are different. There are disorders of the eye as well that cause irregular functioning of the optic nerve/occipital lobes of the brain, causing people to literally only see a picture of their world every few moments, like playing an extremely laggy game at 2 or 3 fps.

For arguments sake, and more to the point of the topic, I'll set 'Life' as having ~150 fps.
