Wrong. When guns are illegal in a country it makes them extremely hard to get hold of... even for criminals. Common thugs stealing Ipods and Mobiles are very unlikely to be armed with a gun. A knife at the most but a gun is extremely rare.

Not neccessarily. It depends on the country, and it depends on their location. Such things work in Australia because they don't share a border with anyone who can smuggle them in easily. Banning something does not mean it will go away. If a criminal wants something, they will find a way to get it. That's a fact.

Yes bigger criminals but not small time muggers, like the type who'd jump a guy walking around town for maybe his wallet and mobile phone. While I don't rule it out, I know guns can be acquired in countries that have tight gun control... I know it's exceptionally hard to acquire one unless you know some really, really unfriendly characters.

You may get the odd armed(gun) thug but it's extremely rare. That gun would cost a thug too much when a knife to them would probably be just as useful and will get them significantly less time in jail once caught. Most thugs would probably just go around with a bunch of mates and beat or stab you rather then go through the trouble of getting a gun.

While I think this is amazing and applaud them for their actions, I would still advise caution. After all, even Bruce Lee couldn't dodge a bullet.

Those muggers must be the unluckiest criminals in a while. What are the odds of chasing a dude into an ally that links to a ninja school!
