I would really like a game with realistic bullet damage. Like, time for bleeding out if your hit in a major artery, instant death in the head (duh), bones breaking (limping, not being able to use two handed weapons). I think a game with realistic damage in general would be pretty sweet.

In some games, not being realistic works very well though.

Realism in terms of character development, moral choice, and world physics are very important. I don't think anyone is clamoring for cardboard characters, kitten-eating evil choices and butterfly-worshiping good ones without middle ground, or broken physics. At the same point, you need to balance things out to make a game playable. In real life, a single gunshot would kill you. In a game, if a single gunshot kills you, you're going to be upset. So most characters can take quite a few hits, usually handwaved by super-effective armor or shielding. And this works (for the most part, as long as it's consistent).

No. Reality is real enough for me. The farther they get from it, the better.

That said, a game's reality must be consistent! If it sets up new rules for itself, it must obey it's own rules or else all immersion in that fantasy will be lost. Aeris just needed a phoenix down FFS!

To an extent. I play games to escape reality and do unrealistic (but not neccessarily illogical) things. In the grand scheme of things, I favour stylization.

Scribblenauts has nothing resembling realism.

Psychonauts has nothing resembling realism.

Team Fortress 2 has nothing resembling realism.

Therefore, no.

I like realism and I like making realism enhancing mods, so yes. However, I would like to see realism in games where some people would argue it pointless (such as unreal tournament). Just because the setting is unrealistic doesn't mean that the same has to go for the gameplay. I hate when idiots confuse the two, you can have a terrible story and great gameplay; the game will still be fun for most people.

Real is fine in some instances but not EVERYTHING needs to look real, the latest thing seems to be taking anime and giving it a realistic twist in games, I'd rather see cell shading and what not but that's how it is now.

Depends. If the gameplay is fine tuned to properly incorporate realism to some extent, sure why not?

There's a fine line with realism and gameplay that is often just forgotten when developers try and strive to make things realistic.
Then again, the same could be said about story, graphics, difficulty...
All of those aspects aren't something you should build a game on, they should be used to build a game with.
The only way to build a game is with gameplay.

I only like realism in my flight sims and FPS games, and I only really enjoy it if it is consistent. I'm not a fan of being killed with one bullet, but being able to take out twenty people with one grenade that takes out a building along with them. That just bugs me,

No, I don't like realism. Imagine a military FPS where the night before a big mission, you contract an illness and miss the battle because you are spending time in the infirmary with dysentry. Or get your leg blown off by a roadside bomb and get reassigned to paper-pushing. Or you accidently shoot a teammate, then get post traumatic stress disorder and are court-martialed, discharged, and sent home only to find out your wife is pregnant with another man's baby and out of guilt and grief you slowly drink yourself to death, penniless, living in squalor as your family mourns the loss of the person you once were.

On second thought, I kind of want to play that game...
