Personality traits:The Stage four boss of Undefined Fantastic Object. Originally a human girl who drowned a long time ago, her lingering sentiment and attachment to the world caused her to return to the world as a youkai. She spent her idle time capsizing ships, apparantly for boredom or to gain power/credit/something as a youkai, until she heard of Byakuren preparing to enter her waters. She had hoped to sink Byakuren and her ship to attract a human, who she could defeat to be free from the sea(" "If I succeed, " she thought, "maybe I can even attack a human that could free me from this cursed ocean." " - Murasa's offical profile).
To her surprise, however, Byakuren came completely defenseless and vulnearable. There were only a few humans on the ship with her, and it put up no resistance beyond that of a normal human vessel. At first, she was dissapointed, as there was little point in defeating a normal human vessel in such a manner("Before she knew it, the ship was sunk, and all of the people on it were flung into the sea. This discouraged her. There was no pride to be taken in defeating someone so powerless." - Murasa's offical profile)
However, Byakuren surprised Murasa. Although Byakuren's ship had sunk, she appeared floating above the ocean, and created a ship with her own powers. This ship was a ship based upon the ship Murasa herself once captained(" "She's riding a shining boat?and it's not the one I just capsized. In fact, that's the ship that I rode in so long ago." " - Murasa's offical profile). This was a ship only Murasa could captain. In a sense, it was a spiritual attack on Murasa's being, far more dangerous to a youkai than physical attacks("A youkai like her was much more afraid of spiritual attacks than swords or arrows." - Murasa's offical profile).
This would become the Palanquin Ship. The same ship Murasa would be sealed in and the same ship which would be used to begin the quest to unseal the so-called youkai savior, Byakuren Hijiri.
Fanon-wise, Murasa is still a very fertile character, and her characterization has yet to settle solidly. We've seen her as a complete dick, a somewhat brash yet well-meaning captain and of course a badass.
Perhaps because she's a captain and certainly because of her That One Boss nature, Murasa has become somewhat of a badass. Thus, she's also known as CAPTAIN MINAMITSU MOTHERFUCKING MURASA, who really is not to be fucked with. Or sometimes Popeye's Daughter.
