Ok discovered Scroobius Pip recently and really liked that, and iv been into Rugged Man for a while, but aside from that I havent really found any rappers that amazingly original lyrically. So do you know any, and dont point out obvious ones like Eminem etc. (iv heard of him :p).

(oh and this, listen to this if you like good rap)

Good...Rap? Huh?

Really though, aside from the standard trolling involved here, I've never really gotten the appeal. The only thing that ever makes rap "good", is impressive writing, and that hardly needs to be limited to any form of music to be considered good. I find that having some dude sing what may be some impressive literature just ruins it by being annoying.

original lyrically. like Eminem
most of his songs are about hitting his wife, killing his wife, hating his wife, or doing them to his mother. or about his women issues, just in case you hadnt picked up on them.

Scroobius Pip is on Sage Francis' record label of Strange Famous, that's a good place to look. I would also recommend Eyedea & Abilities. If you fancy some more spoken work style rap like Pip check out Polarbear and Kate Tempest.

I can still hate YourFavoriteMartion and not hate you.

OT: I really don't know any "good" rappers because I'm not in Rap music to begin with. On occasion, a song on the radio might sound good but enough for me to look up the artist. The closest anyone has ever come into my attention is Vanilla Ice for his <url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rog8ou-ZepE&ob=av2e>Ice Ice Baby, but then again, he got the best of his song from Queen: <url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a01QQZyl-_I&ob=av3n>Under Pressure

The rappers in Foreign Beggars.

There lyrics aren't particularly original, but they are technically brilliant.

Professor Green is extremely good as well, his voice is good for the London-y Grime sound.

your coming to the escapist for rap recommendations?

you do realize you will be lynched and hated for all eternity for even considering such an idea? most of the people on here are the KKK equivalent of rap haters, so you really came to the wrong place for that...

I really can't recommend to many "good" rap artists, i prefer hip hop to overall rap, but uhm i'll suggest nappy roots

basically anything by nappy roots i like alot

Gotta tell you, I LOVE Saul Williams. He's a little rough on most of his albums, but his album "Niggy Tardust" was mastered and co-wrote with Trent Reznor, frontman of Nine Inch Nails and composer of The Social Network's score.

Anyway, Saul Williams is transcendental rap, more like spoken word poetry... in fact he's mostly a spoken word poet. I think he has more shows based on that than rap.

I'm not really into rap but 'Atmosphere' and 'Immortal Technique' are pretty divine on that ol' mic of theirs.
