okay, what you wanna do is turn off that middle class white-boy stuff and listen to Biggie and Tupac.
there's your good rap.

original lyrically. like Eminem
most of his songs are about hitting his wife, killing his wife, hating his wife, or doing them to his mother. or about his women issues, just in case you hadnt picked up on them.
Of course. Because endorsing drugs, using women as sex-objects, Afrocentrism, murder on people with another skin colour and murder on police officers are MUCH better subjects.
Just in case you hadn't picked up on them.

Maybe people like Eminem because in the world of "drugs 'n' violence is cool, teach it to kids, yo", suddenly some random dude's personal problems in life become much more interesting.

Except they're both incredibly overrated...

Blue Scholars are quite good, socially conscious with a deep literary bent to their stuff. I recommend checking them out.

Because all rappers endorse poor treatment of women and muder right? You know even if they do talk about killing, their not literal.

NWA's debut maybe violent, but its more like a protest against discrimination, you cant seriously believe that its members would seriously be into being violent and destructive?

Youll find alot of rappers speaking out against crackheads too.

Ok discovered Scroobius Pip recently and really liked that, and iv been into Rugged Man for a while, but aside from that I havent really found any rappers that amazingly original lyrically. So do you know any, and dont point out obvious ones like Eminem etc. (iv heard of him :p).

(oh and this, listen to this if you like good rap)
Nice song. Aside from the 80s/early 90s rap from the Likes of NWA (and subsequent stuff from its individual members) I've not been massively fond of rap. Although, in saying that I do like Eminem and Professor Green has been growing on me.

Rappers, however, do not grace my iPod...except this guy:

Incidentally, POS is also a fucking great rapper. He's got nothing on Astronautalis though...

Thematically and lyrically exceptional, Astronautalis is one of my favourite things to grace my iPod. And he's a rapper! That's pretty odd considering my iPod is saturated with ska, punk and hardcore bands. Seriously, I urge you to check him out; I'll be surprised if there's not at least one song you like.

Also, here he is doing a live freestyle. Hilarious and brilliant stuff:

EDIT: I've just been checking up some info about POS and, besides being a great rapper, he's in a number of pretty good punk bands. Most notably Wharf Rats, who have Chris 2 from Anti-Flag and Wade Macneil from Alexisonfire on bass and guitar respectively. Crazy shit.

NaS for me has gotta be the top. Memory Lane, lyrically, is probably one of the top 5 hip hop tracks ever:

Jeru the Damaja is pretty good, and has a unique flow (seeing him in December!):

And Ice Cube is just a top legend:

I would definitively suggest Viktor Vaughn/MF Doom.

I don't really know much about rap, but I know what I like and my favourite rapper is The RZA.

As well as his lyrical content, I really like the way he raps, to me it sounds very precise and for the lack of a better way of describing it, "clipped". He also seems to gain momentum as his verses go on.

He's a really good producer too and I've yet to hear a piece of music that's had his touch that I don't like.

If you're a fan of the RZA, have you seen Afro Samurai?

Quality.
