In my class I have this one guy who is constantly try to convert me to Christianity, and I also have a friend who is try to get me to become a vegetarian. Now is it just me or when other people try to force their beliefs or morals on you, or try to get you to do what they want you to do, is this really irritating?

I don't have a problem with them being a Vegetarian or Christian so why do they have to have a problem with me eating meat or being atheist, why can't I just enjoy my steak and blaspheme in peace? Why must I do what they want?

What do you guys think about this?

I think that it is part of their opinion that they be allowed to try and convert you to their ways, and if you try and stop them, then you are not letting them use their opiion (kind of like forcing them to eat meat and be Atheist).

Ok, that was a horrible horrible lie on my part. Next time one of them comes up to you, either burp meat-burps in their face or try and convert them to Atheism by showing evidence against their beliefs.

EDIT: You know those religious people who go door knocking??? My brother did an awesome thing which has stopped them coming around for over 5 years now. He let them talk and talk and talk (for like ten+ minutes), and then, at the end, he said, 'have you considered buddhism' (he isn't buddhist but he spent a few months learning about buddhism so he knew his stuff). Then he spent 20 minutes telling them all about buddhism. AND IT WORKED!!!

I suggest you try that, so that they aren't saying you are biased (being atheist). As if you try and convert them to a different religion which you also don't believe, they can't accuse you of bias.

Try just telling them you don't share their beliefs and don't appreciate being backed into a corner about you own. If that doesn't work, then sometime being rude is you only option. I'm a firm believer that sometimes the best and only way to get your point across is with a hemmer.

Opposite here, I've got people trying to shove meat down my throat, or getting it chucked at me in the school canteen...

So yeah, it is quite annoying, although I haven't had any Christians trying to convert me yet.

It's the way of the world. People think (and have a right to think) they're better than you. The only course of action for you is to politely ask them to stop, as you won't change your beliefs no matter how much they try to convince you. If that doesn't work, well, as my father says:

Deal with it or get therapy.

Punch the Christian in the face with a Star of David- made of bacon.

It has the multi cultural offence causing advantages of prooving your lack of interest in the Christian faith whilst simultaneously confirming your dislike of vegetarianism and dispelling any possible doubt you may be converted to Judaism in for good measure.

Last time these guys came around to my place I dress as a terrorist, jumped off the roof and land right in front of them, I have never seen Jehovah Witnesses run so fast.

Just explain to them that there is nothing that could make you change your mind about god besides physical evidence and that you believe humans are omnivores and should eat some meat to stay healthy. Tell them they're wasting their time.
Hopefully they'll get it if you tell it to them directly.

Just ignore them. People who force their beliefs onto others are usually just idiots.

One of my last desperate efforts to get them to leave me alone was to beat the bible basher with a bible he keep trying to give me and with my herbivorous friend, I went out a bought a steak from the supermarket and at it in front of her, this was at 2:00am in the morning and I had nowhere to cook the steak so I had to eat it raw. I got my point across to both of them though but they still won't give up.

Point out the contradictions in the Bible and the fact that no one in Christianity can actually agree on any interpretations of the 'word of God'.

And tell the other one to try some bacon, then see how he likes vegetarianism.

I'd ignore them if I was the OP.
I don't have any problems with people holding different beliefs to me, but when they're basically saying my point of view is wrong, that's when I start to get annoyed...

Tell them politely, but firmly, that you have no interest in their efforts to convert you to their lifestyle choices. I know that's hard to do though, nothing is more annoying than having someone in your face attempting to persuade you that their way of doing things is the only true way, and not their opinion.

Being a christian myself I honestly don't think forcing someone to bow to your believes is right. If you just go around saying "God loves you, you should be a christian" then they start to hate religion. So I only talk about it if it's brought up by someone else, and even then i'm cautious in how I talk about it, so it doesn't sound like i'm preaching.

You, mate, are a true man.

I would recommend memorizing a good chunk of Friedrich Nietzsche quotes for the Christian, and nutrition data about how meat is better for the veggie.
