Epitaph by King Crimson would be the most relaxing song I can think of. Pink Floyd has a lot of stuff that fits into this category as well.

(A lot of Pink Floyd)
Any Color You Like-Pink Floyd
Great Gig in the Sky-Pink Floyd
Shine On You Crazy Diamond-Pink Floyd
Comfortably Numb-Pink Floyd
Meddle(the whole album except maybe "One of These Day")-Pink Floyd
1983...-Jimi Hendrix
Little Wing-Jimi Hendrix
Planet Caravan-Black Sabbath
Child in Time-Deep Purple

Thats all I can think of right now.

Mozart anybody? [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zi8vJ_lMxQI]

Apart from classical, as I assume you're looking for something more contemporary, I like to chill to either The Wind Cries Mary by Jimi Hendrix [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rf-Mtd2A1DI] or some Gorillaz, mainly 19 2000 [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgsbPY1dykE] or Rock The House [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x419f-nLhgE]

Marooned by Pink Floyd. No words to distract, some of the most beautiful guitar, and so contiguous that if you loop it you won't be able to figure out where it begins or ends.

Lets see:

In a Little While, Kite, and Grace by U2, for when I'm just overexcited or tense.

Father Christmas and Apeman by the Kinks for when, in addition to the above, I'm also in a really foul mood (listen to the words and try not to laugh).

Yes, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, I like them too, although their songs tend to be... random... and really long :)
really? their albums tend to be predicable in my opinion. build up, crescendo, drop, found sounds/monlogues, build up, crescendo, end.

predictable is not necessarily a bad thing, GY!BE aren't seen as the pre-eminent post rock band for being predictable. They did master the build-up to crescendo though

Robert Johnson.

I'm a blues man at the end of the day, but mostly I just listen to brutal death metal and hardcore.

I've Been Thinking by Cat Power. It's akin to taking sedatives. Also, most things Emily Haines takes a crack at(I think she just can't help it), but they are good.

Also Bob Dylan songs. I nearly forgot. Especially "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" and "Like A Rolling Stone".
