"So how did your boyfriend get you into gaming?"
Oh, and... some members of my family believe that magic is real but science just doesn't want you to know about it. So. Yeah. That happened.
Technically a phobia doesn't have to be something you've encountered before. A phobia is an extreme, irrational fear - calling it out on a lack of logic only lends credibility to its existence.
OT: A friend and I were in class one day talking, when he went quiet for a few seconds. I could see the gears in his head were turning, so I asked him what he was thinking about. He then turned to me and said, with an utterly straight face;
"D'you reckon sheep know anything about Star Trek?"
"All religions are wrong because science is always right. I can't stand living in a world where people believe in some deity while CONSTANTLY oppressing others"
Yes, religion is flawed, but so is man. "Religion is flawed because man is flawed". It doesn't hold us back as much as give us a reason besides interest to move forward. It also gives us basic guidelines that prevent us from being savages that kill for fun and fuck each others wives/girlfriends/dogs.
In case it gets taken down, here's the text by +IMDb user brian__007:
"Overall, I like "Lord of the Rings." However, I do feel that Tolkien kind of rips off "Harry Potter" in many ways. There are several parallels, such as elves, dwarfs, wizards, goblins, trolls, magic (especially invisibility), etc. Sauron is referred to as ?Dark Lord? just like Voldemort is. There is also the elder white-haired bearded wizard who serves almost as a mentor, Gandalf, who is reminiscent of Dumbledore. Some of the character names are similar, such as Wormtongue as opposed to Wormtail, too. There is even a gigantic spider (Shelob) at the end of "The Two Towers" that reminds one of Aragog from "Chamber of Secrets." I even noticed that the plots of both series begin with the protagonists? birthday. Now I see that Tolkien, this unoriginal bastard, is coming out with "The Hobbit" in December. This would be fine, but why didn't he just write this book first to begin with? I still like "Lord of the Rings," though--don't get me wrong--but I wonder if Tolkien has ever said in interviews whether he borrowed elements from Harry Potter. I?ll be watching the extended DVDs later this week and I think he?s featured on the commentary track, so I look forward to that."
"Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering."

This one happened between me and two other friends. I was talking (jokingly) about how the U.N members should just have a battle royale to figure out votes. so it went something like this, paraphrasing a bit here though.
Me: The U.N should just have a battle royale to decide what to do in the world. They can hit each other with chairs, smuggle in guns and fist fight, each country would be a team
not so smart friend : Hah, I feel sorry for the king of Africa.
me:..........*bust out laughing with other friend*

Oh really? Let's let law and education tell us which of the following is right or wrong, abortion, stem cell research, suicide, mercy killing, war, divorce. All these things have no defined right or wrong answer people form their own conclusions about them, some do it through religion. If a person says that war is wrong because of his religion, then he's a moron, but that's not the case if he just believes that war is wrong because that's just what he believes, then he's not an idiot. Two people that think that same thing, but one is a moron because he reached that conclusion in a different way. One person on this website said that, more or less, there's my stupid thing I heard someone say.
P.S. Not all religious people go for the whole Fearful God stuff, many of the people I know believe that God is loving and is willing to let everyone into heaven, even Jews, Muslims and Atheists. They're all his children, and really would God condemn 2/3 of Earth's population to Hell even if they lead good lives just because they don't believe in him?
when living in england i got introduced to a girl as dutch kris... she then asked me where i was from and once that was explained she said oh so you must speak danish then...:S
had the same more or less in the us.. tell someone im dutch and get ah so your from denmark and somehow end up with the nickname the norweege ... oklahoma is a strange place
Same thing kept happening to me when I was living in Montreal, except people would insist that I should speak Dutch to them.. Apparently it´s hard to tell the difference.
I got somthing better, once on a local trivia show for high schoolers a question was asked about a South American country and one girl answered South Africa.
Just a few days ago my uncles friend expressed her worry for dropping her diamond wedding ring and it breaking against the floor. Yes, diamond breaking against hardwood floor.
While sitting in Chili's (restaurant), three people sat down in the booth behind us. They start talking away and I catch a good portion of their conversation. A high-pitched female voice said, verbatim, "I think, as Christians, we are taking too much from Disney and teaching it to our kids. You know, the Apple from the story of Adam and Eve which is from Snow White and the Whale from Pinocchio and Jonah. The Bible stole so much from Disney."
What, what, what!?! No one has stated the famous "Is it chicken or is it tuna?" line?
My parents got arrested for having ten marijuana plants in their front yard.
When I was on a dating site I got a message from a guy who said he was a "hardcore gamer". Quickly learned the last time he had played a video game was Mario when he was five.
People with mental health issues should be locked up or killed because they have the devil inside them.
Just tack on every single ignorant and hilariously elitist comment you've ever heard about Macs being superior to PCs.
"Like, seriously, I pop a disc in my iMac - ANY FREAKING DISC - and it runs. My iMac's the best machine ever, man.
- Me: "Oh, so your iMac supports Blu-Ray?
- Yeah, totally! Any disc, I told you! It's all good!"
I also just nodded for the sake of avoiding a pretty lengthy discussion.
Add to that the fact that a literature department won't exactly be overflowing with gamers. A lot of my peers figure the medium hasn't evolved in any way since the days of Super Mario Bros, so it's generally up to me and the two other folks working on theses based at least partially on gaming to try and educate them.
"You mean there's stuff out there besides Tetris?
- Dude, where have you *been* for the past thirty years?!"
Even in those years where I barely touched PCs or consoles, I was aware of what was going on. I knew the other kids were into Sega or Nintendo, I usually got around to fiddling with the bigger titles in the NES' lineup and could work my way around a floppy-based PC. By the time the Super Nintendo rolled around, I just couldn't ignore the medium any longer. So the very concept that even someone completely removed from the gaming culture could be *utterly* ignorant of everything gaming-related is just mind-boggling.
The medium is everywhere, nowadays. We're not mainstream, sure, but our penetration rate is still incredibly high.
"Guns should not be allowed in the US. I know this because I live in the UK/Norway/Finland/Germany/Anyothercountryineurope and because there is less gun violence here, there would be less there. There would also be less criminals and the world would be a happier place"
Seems like good enough evidence for me: you have a place with guns, you have a place without guns. The place without guns has less crime. Simples!
OT: I have, in fact, compiled a list of terrible, terrible comments. Here they are! (Don't try and bother working out what point they were making, BTW. I saw them fully in context and they still didn't make sense.)
I love it, the GTX 680 wins and in page after page our red c angel tells us it's not meaningful as all cards can do.
He even calls the GTX590 single card king defunct !
The bias is so bad, and stinks to high heaven, but the review is blind as a bat to his red fanboy bloviating he would have us believe.
I'm sure he will 100% excuse himself as he has before claiming rabid red fans complain so he's doing a good job.
The bias is beyond disgusting anyway.
As we will see the soon Crysis 1 and Metro 2033 will be the favorite games of all. All the rest will be described as " capable of being run on any card offering from either competitor so a dead match washout".
This is the very definition of the red raging fanboy. When they lose in every fashion and form, suddenly everything is a tie and all cards are good, as they are all capable.
You will never see the reverse done for Nvidia, it does not happen here, nor almost anywhere else.
The real truth is more than apparent.
The 680 is about 20% faster across the board, costs less, lower thermals and wattage, smaller core, with an immensely larger feature set that now the raging reds will have extreme trouble lying about over and over again as they have for years claiming "they don't care about any of it and it all sucks".
Worse yet for them the 7970 loses in triple monitor gaming as well, the big fat ram lie is kicked to the curb as it should have been YEARS AGO.
The GTX590 still has the single card crown these low life liars still cannot admit as we see it in so many of these reviews - but for the little lying amd fan, "it was not sufficiently dethroned" and for this reviewer as it shows up on top or under the 680 over and over again, it is "defunkct" - THAT'S RIGHT CHRIS IT IS ACCORDING TO YOU DEFUNKCT EVEN AS YOU INCLUDE IT IN YOUR BENCHMARKS.
[It doesn't matter what he was talking about. I read this article and I still have no idea what he was saying]
---
thanks for the thuosands of endless lies in red fanboy favor. thanks so much !
I'm sure you all have nvidia cards in your own personal systems a well ! I know you do that proves you aren't a lying sack.
way to go...

@benpl14 Wow I say that I agree with most of the stuff there apart from abortion and The oil i Even if you drill in the us or any other? county for that matter oil is running out simply because there around 7 billion people in the world using it and the demand is increasing. Also don't take what the candidates say to be the truth since they don't do any of the stuff after they are elected. Also technically a baby isn considered to be alive until 3 months which is when their Heart starts beating
---
Yes but the baby will Become one. And thank you. There steel are nice People On the internet. But I think that it is a baby,Because the fetus will become a baby. It's Like a tree seed, Is it a tree No But If you Plant it, It will become a tree. And We (The U.S) is only drilling 3percent of the Oil in? Alaska and Alaska has just as much Oil and natural gas as Saudi Arabia. And yes I thing if we drill in the U.S and Of the coast of U.S gas Will last for Centuries...Forgive me for bad grammar.

The starred ones were provably written by a 14-year-old who claimed to have military training in "Gorilla warfare", who was more than happy to settle this to 'ur fucking fac' [sic].
By taking away guns from common citizens, CRIMINALS will not be as afraid to use their guns because they know the common citizen they feel like robbing/raping/killing will not be able to equal the playing field (using a gun) without it being illegal.
Too many factors including Police Response time, location, culture, user, and just over all situation make it impossible to say "Just take them away" (I don't even want to have that right taken away)
Besides, one of Americas founding ideas was to have the right to own a fire arm, it'd be a shit idea to take that idea away because of technological advances.
I was in Texas last year, and I was thrown out of 2 diners and refused service from an entire town we were passing through becasue my friend had a bumper sticker that said
"My version: Millions of years of a complex process that we can test and see.
Your version: MAGIC MAN DID IT! LALALA, I'M NOT LISTENING!!"
Really, people got upset because you insulted them? Imagine that. I'm an atheist and I support freedom of speech but that doesn't mean people have to like it when you insult their beliefs.
