Okay. So I haven't played XBL for a while so I decided to start playing again the other day and played MW2 not even the third match I played in I was yelled at. Not for being bad mind you. For ACTUALLY playing the game how your supposed to be by doing something some twelve year old kid decided to call HARD Scoping with my sniper. If you don't know what HARD Scoping is its when you zoom in and stay zoomed in. I didn't know that was against the law of the online gaming universe to use a weapon the way it was intended. LIKE SERIOUSLY the kid yelled at me called me a cheater and kept saying how much better at the game he was than me when every match I played against him he was always last on his team and I was near the top.

So here is the question I pose to you Escapist. What is the most outrageous thing you have ever been yelled at while playing a game online.

Being the reason why a PUG Gears 2 team lost a Horde round, despite having the highest score.

I was playing SC2 (beta) last night. The match lasted about 20 minutes and towards the end we threw back their attack on our base with tons of stalkers and a bunch of thors with an army of broodlords and Colossus, then proceeded to counter attack. We then got bitched out by the other team for using a "cheese" strat...

I'm not up on my RTS jargon, cause I suck at human-vs-human RTS games... What's a 'cheese' strat?

I once got yelled at for "slacking" in WoW when I was completely new to DPS in instances - apparently, all the other guys have those talent trees and skill sequences hardwired into their genes.

And also in WoW, I got kicked out for rolling need on a weapon which I actually needed (well, actually it was that there were two very good drops for my character in short succession and therefore I rolled need on both, but other players wouldn't listen to my explanations).

I remember i was yelled at in Cod5 for taking out the opposing teams Tanks with my own Tank and surviving the rest of the game with it.

Still didn't stop me for feeling like Da Man.

...What?
There's something wrong with using the scope?
I'm baffled. Just write it off as those kids being pissed off that you killed them.

OT: I got yelled at during a halo 3 match for shooting a guy on a mongoose as he attempted to run me over. The conversation went like this:
Him: FUCK YOU
Me: what?
Him: YOU DONT SHOOT A FUCKING MONGOOSE

Or, you know, we go out and research.

If you were max level, people expect you to have at least had a cursory glance or asked around as to what the best spec/rotations are. This is especially true when your group has evidently been to this instance a few times before and is interested in completing it as fast as possible for badges/drops/gold/whatever rather than being held back by a deadweight member.

Elitist? A bit.

However this is how it is. If you don't want to be told you're deadweight, you should probably be running with friends rather than PuGs.

Although they might ***** about you behind your back ololololololol.

Creating alot of powerful units and sending them en-mass at your enemy, or clumping them near or in your base.

Oh **** those 'hard scope!' moaners, that fucking makes me laugh. Most people that play MW2 get really upset if you camp, hard scope, noob tube or generally play the game in a way that they don't like. Just tell them to shut up and mute em.
I know I shouldn't enjoy it, but I love trolling them.

Its even better when they try to kill you with the same ways you killed them, and they fail.
Its just so funny.

If I could make the sound quality translate well through the xbox mic, I would have the heavy's "WAAAAAAAAAAAH, WAAAAAAAAAAAH, CRY SOME MORE! HAHAHAHAHAHA!" line on tap.

I haven't played any multiplayer games recently apart from a couple of flash games, but I did have a chuckle at this one:

I was playing an Elements PvP game (which is a MtG-like card game) with a Darkness deck based on stealing everything I need from my opponent (health, energy, permanents, etc). Halfway through the game my opponent starts saying stuff like "Steal is for faggots who don't have good cards of their own." It was funny, because indeed his cards were a lot more powerful than mine. The reason I was still beating him with ease was that his deck sucked, since he apparently just took the most powerful cards he had and threw them together without a though about deck balance or synergy. Yeah your cards are great, but that doesn't help you if you don't know how to play the game.

Also, one that happened quite a while ago but that I still get butthurt over. I was playing Guild Wars with my Necromancer and we were at... I don't remember, one of the final missions in Nightfall but not the last one. I had joined a PUG and we were ready to go, so I pinged my build as is customary, so that everyone in the party knew exactly what to expect from me. The group leader then told me that my build sucked and sent me a new one that, according to him, was way better. One look at his build told me that not only was my build more efficient for that particular mission (and in general), I also lacked one or two skills in the lineup he suggested so I couldn't use his build even if I wanted to. The group leader, convinced we'd never win the mission if I didn't use his build, called me a noob and kicked me out of the group. To prove my point, I then proceeded to solo the mission on hard mode with that exact build.
