Oh **** those 'hard scope!' moaners, that fucking makes me laugh. Most people that play MW2 get really upset if you camp, hard scope, noob tube or generally play the game in a way that they don't like. Just tell them to shut up and mute em.
I completly agree with you. My one disagreement is that I grow really tired of noob tubers, just because more than half the time its in close range, and in my opinion it just makes them overpowered. I mean seriously, how can an mp5 lose to an m16 noob tube in close range? That shit should be fixed...

I've had people moaning at me for planting the bomb in Sabotage too. I don't care if they want a 20 minute TDM, I want to do Sabotage seeing as I chose to do it.

Okay. So I haven't played XBL for a while so I decided to start playing again the other day and played MW2 not even the third match I played in I was yelled at. Not for being bad mind you. For ACTUALLY playing the game how your supposed to be by doing something some twelve year old kid decided to call HARD Scoping with my sniper. If you don't know what HARD Scoping is its when you zoom in and stay zoomed in. I didn't know that was against the law of the online gaming universe to use a weapon the way it was intended. LIKE SERIOUSLY the kid yelled at me called me a cheater and kept saying how much better at the game he was than me when every match I played against him he was always last on his team and I was near the top.

So here is the question I pose to you Escapist. What is the most outrageous thing you have ever been yelled at while playing a game online.
Oh thats because those kids think Sniping is suppose to be like this. They think its cool to quick scope.
Whats the point of scoping in at that point? Seems like it would be more effecient to just shoot unscoped if you already know where the center of your screen is.

Well There's your probelm. MW2 is the bitchiest, whiniest, least ballanced, most obnoxious, fail-ridden game in exsistance.
Fixed it for ya. And you got yelled at because it's a 12 year old.

Because the mp5 isn't as accurate and doesn't fire as large of a round as an m16 of any kind.
Machine Pistol 5: it fires 9mm pistol rounds very quickly.
M16 (any): fires a NATO standard 5.56mm (.223 caliber) rifle round.

Pistol rounds are useless against body armor, rifle rounds at least have a chance to get through. They at least tried to make power relative to the round and weapon you are using, the only thing they got right in that game at all.

Snipers in TF2 call me a hacker because I dodge their bullets. Do they not realize it's an infrared scope? You just look where the dot is an move.
IR scopes don't show a dot, you're thinking a laser scope (which in most cases will have some other kind of optical enhancement, but it's the laser you are seeing.)

Well, in CSS I was always getting someone pissed off because I used to no-scope with a scout. In MW1 people got mad because I shotgun-rushed on crossfire and people got mad at me for actually using a mounted machine gun the way you are supposed to use it: spray like hell near that moving thing over there. Ah well, some people just need to whine once in a while when they get another headshot with a sniper from 1 meter or they get a shotgun op their ***.
..I believe you but.. why were you using a scout? I never cared for that weapon much myself.

Let me say that I am a fucking demon when I have the semi-automatic shotguns in Bad Company (1 & 2). So good I can take out around three or four people all together before dying in each life.

I have been shouted at as a hacker countless times, and even kicked off. Jealous of mah uber skillz.
Yea, I've been accused of being either a sniping or grenade hacker multiple times on CoD servers. I'd be more angry about that, but whenever it happens I feel like a total badass.

I've located your problem. In the probably 300+ hours I've spent playing Team Fortress 2 on PC I could truly count the number of assholes with a mic on one hand.

I've gotten yelled at a few times in games, though not often. Most of the times I remember was when I was playing WoW on my main alt character, my Protection Warrior, and I would go into PuG's or later the LFG system and start being a psychopath of a tank. It depended upon my mood. I would /walk in the Culling of Stratholme Instance and talk about how awesome I was for doing that (since I wasn't really slowing down the run by much), or I would be a chain-puller with absolutely no regard for anyone's mana, AFK status, or anything else that didn't directly concern me. I had more than a few healers up and leave over it, but I always got a kick out of it because it was simply a fact that they "couldn't hack it" and i'd just get a different healer who greatly appreciated the pace that I played at.

Good times indeed. :)

P.S. My main was a Holy Priest, so yes I could tolerate tanks as psychotic as I was.
Wait, there's a way to play instances which doesn't involve chain pulling?

Seriously?
Holy shit.

I'm seeing a lot of this crap on Uncharted 2 lately...

I have two builds on Uncharted; Down the Irons & Bandoilier, or Down the Irons & Deposit.

A quicky for people who don't play the game; Down the Irons means when you are firing from the shoulder (ie: aiming) with a long gun like the AK47, you are more accurate. The AK47 on Uncharted is so pathetically inaccurate that without Down the Irons it has sod-all chance of a medium range kill, let alone long-range sniping. Bandoilier means your clips carry more bullets (not a huge amount - 5 to 10%) and Deposit means you get more points for objective based medals like capturing the hill on King of The Hill matches.

The people who scream abuse at me usually run Situational Awareness, combined with either Rocket Man, Launch Man or Revenge.
What do they do? Situational Awareness makes the enemies appear on your screen (this game has no radar) so you can track them. This only happens when stationary, but it's not hard to stop-start.
Rocket Man gives you more Rocket Launcher ammo (a one-hit kill weapon). Launch Man gives you +50% ammo with the Grenade Launcher (a 2-hit kill weapon) and Revenge automatically drops a grenade when you die.

In short, I take a loadout you can get at level 14, go against people with a level 46 loadout (I am level 43 by the way) and get endless abuse from the cheap little twats. Usual accusations include 'cheating' for using 'revenge' grenades on them without the Boost (this is done by throwing a grenade at them or the floor before they can kill you. It isn't cheating). Others include Stealth-killing (yes, I have snuck up on people who can see where I am...) or performing Pull-Downs (an instant kill done by hanging off a ledge and waiting for an enemy to walk up to the ledge, then meleeing them).

So, camping with a Sniper Rifle behind cover so you can't be seen, and using a Perk so you know where every enemy on the field is, then sniping when they come into view is not cheating... but killing that Sniper in a way that can only be done if the Sniper is stupid enough to leave himself exposed and vulnerable to the most BASIC of attacks is a form of cheating.

Some people are just retarded.

For my gamertag and bio.

My gamertag is GamesB2 and my bio had the lyrics to a devil may cry song in it. And someone went off on one for about 15 minutes about "who does he think he is" and everyone was yelling at him to shut up and stop being a fag.

Crazy drunk people on live...

well to be fair, camping and using the noob tube does show you have no skill at all unless you camping and your a sniper or you are trying to get the attachable shotgun for your gun(which by the way sucks). but yeah i sold my MW2 BECAUSE of campers and well.......campers and glitches.

Because when you use the scope not only it's clearer where the cross hairs are, it also increases the accuracy of your weapon (you can experiment on this by shooting repeatedly at a wall aiming "down the sights" or "from your hip" without moving the crosshair or yourself and seeing the spread of the bullet marks). So by quick scoping you get the benefit of the improved accuracy with less time consumption of aiming properly.

It's a exploit if you like because it's not realistic to be more accurate only because you are in the process of getting the scope closer to your eye and as far as the game programing seams to be, it's just like a switch on and off at the increased accuracy with an animation that does not affect the outcome of the shot.

It's like shooting a hard to aim long range shotgun.

Being the reason why a PUG Gears 2 team lost a Horde round, despite having the highest score.
That reminds me of the bar-none worst Counter-Strike clanmate I ever had who constantly cost us rounds and matches (brother of the best player in the clan). The towering fool would ignore strats and would constantly get picked off pushing aggressively on defense or being completely out of position on offense. He judged success based on his score too.

I once got yelled at for "slacking" in WoW when I was completely new to DPS in instances - apparently, all the other guys have those talent trees and skill sequences hardwired into their genes.

And also in WoW, I got kicked out for rolling need on a weapon which I actually needed (well, actually it was that there were two very good drops for my character in short succession and therefore I rolled need on both, but other players wouldn't listen to my explanations).
I almost had the same happen to me. I almost got kicked for winning an epic one-hand sword thing that clearly regenerates mana on spellcast. The rogue wanted it, so he rage-quit... It was a long time ago, but looks like I still remember it.

OT: I hardly ever get shouted at, because I've already given up on online multiplayer a long time ago. I only sometimes play with friends, so we can make up fun gamemodes like melee only, or hide-and-seek. WITH GUNS! Oh, and playing soccer with gravity hammers in Halo 3 is fun.
