yes, that is a nice touch.BehattedWanderer said:An actual musician takes on a fake musician game. Interesting. And just to complete the cycle, the next Guitar Hero should feature some Rebecca Mayes.
I wouldn't call it easy listening at all. Far too much scuzzy guitars. It's certainly not hard rock though, I agree.PxDn Ninja said:It's not bad. I'm confused though, this isn't hard at all. Easy listening at most. What do you normally listen to? I'm not attacking you, just curious what would make this seems "hard".
I find that amusing as I'd say that GNR were heavily influenced by Queen, Maiden and Metallica are often lumped together by lazy critics (altough I personally agree with you, Metallica are much better), and Aerosmith are what Nickelback would sound like if Nickelback were good. Haha!! But then, it is each to their own...Joa_Belgium said:Concerning rock music: I like Queen, a few softer songs of Metallica (such as the classic "And Nothing Else Matters"), Nickelback, Theory Of A Deadman, Nailpin (which is a Belgian rock band) and a few more whose name I can't recall now.
On the other side, I'm not very fond of Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses or Iron Maiden for example, the heavier rock bands. And don't get me started on metal. I can't stand listening to that genre.
I think the Madworld music style was more to do with a juxtaposition between the style of game (and of course its title) and the style of music. I thought that worked beautifully. As for this one, I agree that, had she done it in a similar soft style it simply wouldn't have worked. It needed riffage... Which is just what we got. One of my favourites.Glaive_21842 said:lol that was great ^_^
Although i was a little supprised that you put some energy into this one. After the Madworld review, i was pretty sure she'd use her softer music style for pretty much everything...after all, if Madworld wasn't heavy, then what would be? Not saying that the added engergy was bad or anything. In fact, it was exactly what this song needed! I couldn't picture a Guitar Hero song any other was. Kudos ^_^
Constructive. Can you do better? Better yet, can you sing and/or play an instrument?VioletZer0 said:That was actually half way to being decent. You're getting there![]()
This is a site that is accessible all over the world and some people may find her accent strange. Maybe that's why? Plus, these are tagged as "reviews" so it's kind of essential people know what's being said.hathfallen said:okay I'd like to be open minded and accept that maybe a lack of accommodations for the hearing impaired has inspired Rebecca Mayes to subtitle all of her videos, but without evidence otherwise, I really don't understand why they need to be there. She's not unintelligible, her voice is clear enough to understand her, what is the deal? The subtitles are lending a comic undertone to what would otherwise be a brilliant production. Stop. Please. You don't need them and they are spoiling your work.
Because she has a fantastic voice and the guitar riff is proper dirty.Sherlock/ said:But other than that, can someone who really likes this one explain why?
Okay, maybe not really hard rock, but like I said: I wasn't decently paying attention the first time. I was watching everyone rock out in the video. That doesn't take away that the Overlord 2 vid is still my least favourite. I thought it was okay, I'm just really not into metal.RaiZ-R said:I wouldn't call it easy listening at all. Yes, her voice is rather clear and loud enough, but it's not only about the volume.hathfallen said:okay I'd like to be open minded and accept that maybe a lack of accommodations for the hearing impaired has inspired Rebecca Mayes to subtitle all of her videos, but without evidence otherwise, I really don't understand why they need to be there. You should have sent something in! We were accepting all takers (within reason) - one of the people that made it in the final video didn't even have a guitar controller at all.Cliff_m85 said:Meh. Voice doesn't fit and the video is quite bland. No one uploaded enough risque footage or funny footage?
I would've, but I only have Rock Band stuff.
Woot for you. I'm pretty impressed you detected the location. Do you party in brighton?GrinningManiac said:that was BRIGHTON she was in!
I recognise the turqouise seafront fencing!
Awesome! My favourite modern-day musician in my favourite city!
Woot for Brighton, Woot for Rebecca and Woot for myself because I cannot pass up an oppertunity to praise myself needlessly
