Oh lord.
In truth I've never been a fan of the Rebecca Muses stuff... I've looked at the odd video here and there when the subject matter catches my attention, but for the most part her music always comes off as having been written by a class of sixth graders. I'm sure some people enjoy it and that is fine. Personally, I can take it or leave it.
This song really tries to take the piss out of Yahtzee but I can't help feel that this was more of an attempt to stir up viewership of her videos.. Let us all be honest.. a large part of this site owes it's success to the Zero Punctuation weekly, as I have a feeling that that is how many people found their way here. Love him or hate him, Yahtzee is definitely worth his weight in gold. In my opinion he is seldom actually right about a game as many games he has ripped on have been in my top favorites at their time so it is safe to say that I only watch Zero Punctuation purely for the entertainment value.
What I wonder is if it is a good idea, even in jest, to go attacking what is essentially a valued asset of the same site on which you essentially rely on for support? Not that he is likely to do so (and I personally think he won't even bother responding to this as Yahtzee doesn't seem the type to engage in petty little flame wars) but what if Yahtzee decided to break ties with Escapist.. where would the site and ultimately Rebecca herself be? I'm willing to bet good money that if people had a choice between Muses and Zero Punctuation, Muses would find itself out on its ear in a heartbeat.
Either way, I laugh when I see some of the comments about how they cant wait to see Yahtzee's response, like middle schoolers waiting for a fight to take place behind the school at 3 o clock. It smacks of immaturity to be frank and is about as silly as the sony/microsoft spats that crop up from time to time.
At any rate, that is my two cents on the matter.
