A lovley, calming melody helping you drift through a very dull game.
Wonderful instrumental, singing and camera use as always Rebecca - oh, and i must say the trains and period costume were an excellent motif.

I try to go into these each time with an open mind and such, but for some reason I really can't get into them. I enjoy most of the videos and find that to be the reason why I keep coming back. In fact, I found the "Wolverine" video to be my favorite because of the sheer silliness of it. I appreciate the music, which I find to be very soothing most of the time and just plain nice to listen to.

Unfortunately, the whole deal falls flat for me with the lyrics. I'm not sure exactly why. It may be because I actually have to read the sub-titling each and every time to understand 80% of what she's singing which detracts from the entirety of the piece. It may be because of the (often commented on) repeated phrases. It may be because of the subject matter of it all and the sheer difficulty of putting a "review" into song. I almost find myself wishing that the lyrics were about an original subject matter, and not reviewing the game in question, but instead using the games as a form of "music video" to go along with it. I really want to like these musings and I'll keep coming back each time to see if one eventually strikes me.

Rebecca is a very talented individual and she's shown it in many ways. Keep up the good work and I hope that you continue with these.

the lyrics are very repetitive
the lyrics are very repetitive
the lyrics are very repetitive
and the song is just too long
why repeat the same stuff thrice.
Before the end, my attention is gone.
I don't think that's very wise.

Good song this week, though one thing that counts for nearly all your songs, is that the text and the melody dowsn't always blend seemlessly together. The "What is wrong with the story line" doesn't fit very well with the melody.

Well I guess it could at least be entertaining.
Besides, that's not the point, I'm saying she just doesn't seem to actually like/play games, from what has been show so far.
You weren't entertained by the songs. Perhaps she wasn't entertained by the games.

She expressed her lack of entertainment in the form of a song. You expressed it by attempting to discredit and devalue her expression, with baseless claims of unoriginality. Whether she cares about games at all is not something you can possibly ascertain by merely listening to a few songs. That would require knowing her personally.
I think the word required here is "PWNED".

I like this song a lot, much much better than the Overlord 2 one. Besides, the westcountry is awesome. OO ARR!

How was he "PWNED"? they both have good points *sighs* can't we all just be friends? :)
Anyway I feel she doesnt really warrant all this criticism, its nice to see something original, and even though i doubt she does all the music herself, its nice to listen to nonetheless

I suppose we can, but may I suggest that your posts also be interpreted by auteur theory?
I guess I can't stop you, eh? Gimme your worst.

Blimey, that's a lot of instruments.

Lovely as always.

Rebecca is a great artist and has a great voice, and that's something I've said from the start and repeated again every fortnight on each video. And that's because I genuinely like her music, and it's also interesting and pleasing to see that in that time, and especially this week, the number of people posting negative reviews has gone down drastically.
...and this.

What are you, her boyfriend? Chill out. She's a big girl. If she wants to be in the entertainment industry, she'd better have thick enough skin to deal with worse than this.

I get the same vibe as Zand about whether or not she actually plays. She even says on her website, "In many ways I represent all the people who know nothing about games, who are uninspired and uninterested in games."

I don't see the harm in Rebecca's songs and her style. I think it's kind of nice and relaxing. As much as I love the harsh electronics and the shredding riffs of a guitar, it's nice to have a change of pace and listen to something different.

Truly awful chorus, try to keep the lyrics focussed on gaming and don't stray off onto other things.

I like your tunes though! I actually found myself humming your Sims 3 one the other day. Keep it up.

You're right. She is a big girl. She can handle herself. Does that mean Zand needed you to come to his defense?

Look, I'm not trying to say that one opinion or another is without merit, but rather that the totally serious point was made from a casual stance. "I watched some of her videos, so I think she may not even be playing the games." (paraphrased and interpreted with the eyes of someone who doesn't want to see another argument about the activities which happen outside the video) My point is that it's one thing to say that the videos lack the expression of a committed gamer, and another entirely to say the songs may lack sufficient effort. The former is constructive criticism, and the latter is just being mean.

A lack of effort can only be ascertained by actually observing the effort applied, and the effort applied to posting "I watched some videos, and think maybe she doesn't care about games" is really rather minimal. Since when was playing games such serious business?

I actually just registered so I could comment on this song. I liked it. It felt like a sad resignation over the overwhelming mediocrity we see in the game industry right now. (Granted there are pearls here and there)

As a side note, I found myself going back to the zero punctuation review of this game. (When we saw the shot of her laying in the bed I could hear ZP's voice talking about her "dreaming about her favorite throat slitting moments" LOL) As I haven't played this game I can't really say anything about the game mechanics and what does or does not work, but my reason for not buying this game was indeed that it just looked like more of the same.

So with that in mind, Bravo! That Rebecca chick is a new and quirky voice and I think we are better off for her offering us a new perspective.

A very good video and song this time, I liked it a lot.
You have finally dropped that annoying chorus that plagued your earlier videos.
Good job!

Like this one! Melancholy sound to show feelings of disappointment in the game perhaps?

Anyway this one is the best one I've seen

Loved this one, It had that nice bittersweet lilting quality to it that you don't find in many artists. Just how many instruments did you use to make this one? I saw at least four different string instruments.
