Reccomend me a book

The Unincorporated man, The Windup Girl, and The Chronicles of the black company. They're all smart, enjoyable books.

The Unincorporated Man is a sci-fi story that takes place in a future where the majority of the power is in the corporations and every person has shares on themselves that they must buy in order to be in control of their lives.

The Windup Girl is about a beautiful woman that was designed to be a servant for a business man, but is now forced to exhibit herself for the pleasure of men. Food is produced in labs, following an epidemic that destroyed much of the worlds food supply.

The Chronicles of the Black Company is about a group of mercenaries that are bought by a mysterious figure called the Lady and takes place in a fantasy world. It's nice because it's from the point of view of the company's scribe who is just an ordinary guy who becomes involved with all powerful wizards. It's a fun series, though there are too many books in it by this point. Read the first three. They are the best.

Are they even in English? I'm having trouble finding 2034 in English print. Never mind spin offs that aren't actually by Glukhovsky.

I have no clue, I think all of them came out this year so there might be some translation out there but I have no clue where, sorry.

Anywhere I've seen them, they're only in Russian. Perhaps there's a chance of an English translation sometime soon though? It would be pretty cool if they released it in English, but with the original Russian covers. That way you'd have a really unique looking cover but an English speaker could still read enjoy the actual story. Metro 2034 is on eBay, but there's no guarantee it will be in English so you may want to use Amazon or another service instead.

So, Escapists, heres the deal: I NEED NEW BOOKS. It's gotten to the point where I'm not even deciding which bokk to read, I'm deciding which book to REread. I'll read... pretty much anything, I suppose, although I do stay mainly within the realm of fiction. I don't mind historical fiction, but I find myself bored by most non-fiction books. But, y'know, whatever floats your boat. Or flies your plane. Or autopilots your UFO. Or types in the coordinates for a teleport. Whatever.

I'd recommend the Amber Chronicles by Roger Zelazny and anything by Gene Wolfe. Probably start off with his Wizard Knight duo.

Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World, Lucifer box trilogy they are pretty funny,world war z, farenheit 451, hokkaido highway blues - this is a travel book but it's one I really enjoyed, yes man non fiction again but it's really uplifting so to speak, Norwegian Wood, tales of the otori trilogy, wicked

Some are a bit different from what you normally read but I have read lots of the books you have and these ones I really enjoyed and were something a little bit different.

If you enjoyed the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series I think you'd enjoy the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Though aimed a bit younger I thought they were great books.

Try the Oath of the empire series. Its long and starts slow, but its a great series. Historical fiction. Rome in its decay and there is magic. Pretty good

Also try the Song/annals (its one of them) of Drakkis. Its a great series where the author flips the way things useally go...the elves are evil and are out to conquer everyone else. its really good.
DOUBLE EDIT: the series is the annals of drakis. The first book is the song of the dragon.
