Hello fellows! As part of my ever constant journey to expand my culture, I come to you to reccommend me a movie, any movie at all, and from that, I will make a list and enjoy myself thanks to your contributions :) Thanks again, community!

As a little tradeoff, I reccommend you go see Midnight in Paris. Despite Woody Allen's fame, this is actually a really good films on all levels. Really reccommendable!

On the off chance that you for whatever reason already haven't seen it, watch Bladerunner. In fact, even if you've seen it, watch it again anyway, it's bloody great. And for something completely different, see Kentucky Fried Movie, from the guys who also made Airplane movies, and speaking of, see those as well.

Session 9 is a good film. Woody Allen? He sucks so bad. Never get why people say his films are worth watching.
I understand why you might say that, his movies and I have never actually been the best of friends either, but trust me when I say that Midnight in Paris is actually good. I don't wanna spoil it any further than that, but hey, just a reccommendation :)

In Bruges.

One of the greatest Black Comedies of recent years.
"In Bruges" is truly, an absolutely awesome film. If you haven't, definitely watch it.

Also, try "Black Death" if you haven't. It sounds moderately un-prepossessing - Sean Bean, generic medieaval setting, plague, witches, etc. But...beneath the slightly silly sounding premise, there lurks a horror film that's creepily disturbing in the same way that The Wicker Man was. The good Wicker Man. Not the terribad remake with Nicholas Cage.

If you're in the mood for a documentary, Encounters at the End of the World is a brilliant look at Antarctica and the people that work there. As the director/narrator Werner Herzog puts it, it's not "another Antarctica film about fluffy penguins".

12 Angry Men with Henry Fonda. Saw it for the first time last week and it's quite excellent.

Just marathon Godfather I and II, or Alien and Aliens...just recently did that and feel deeply satisfied. If not, I'd suggests OldBoy, Scott P. vs. the World, Hanna (if it's still in theatres), The Crow (original Brandon Lee).

I saw a review of it in The Metro on the train home from work one day and thought "Sean Bean, monks, swords, witches and burnings? That will be either really, really good or it will be utter shite, but it will be utter shite that is as funny as hell, for all the same reasons."

Even though it did turn out to be option A, it was option A in a way I really wasn't expecting, and that just made it all the better.

Oldboy.

It's a Korean movie. Think Tarantino, but about ten times as good.

The Professional with Jean Reno. Always been a consistant favorite of mine, and I'd gladly recommend it to anyone who'd ask.
