Warcraft 3, that last mission in the Orc campaign drove me nuts, but it felt so satisfying not only to beat that mission but also the rest of the game.

Shin Megami Tensei. Take your pick.

"Angel/God/Whatever convenient mythological figure or being that is described as holy or good Used Maha-Hamoan (The instant-death without revive or any chance of counter attack that effects the entire party including the main character)"

"The entire party was was effected"

I felt amazing when I finished these games. Especially Nocturne. Oh Christ, fuck Nocturne with a rusty conduit.

The first duel in the Revenge campaign from Magic 2014 is really stupidly unfair, I'm convinced at this point that its just a cheep attempt by the developers to make you buy more cards. First dozen turns the AI just exiles every single card you play and then crushed you with multiple 5/5 flying angels. Haven't actually gotten by it, so no idea if it is satisfying. (Anyone who has beaten Sigismund in the Revenge campaign I would be interested to know how you did it if you can remember)
I haven't played M14 yet but i have played M13 and M12. Have you tried playing a burn deck or other deck that doesn't require creatures to win? Like a deck with alternate win condition such as Mill? I haven't played it as i said but those are my thoughts.

Fighting the Siren in Bioshock Infinite on '99 mode in the graveyard. I was going for the achievement to not use any Dollar Bill machines and I didn't want to be a cheap asshole and checkpoint restart to scavenge for supplies. So I ended up losing $300, getting down to about $21 by the end of it, and I had to resort to camping in a corner shooting at her with a shotgun whenever she decided to run up to me, praying none of her God damn summons would run up and attack me either.

Went and upgraded the shit out of Undertow and Shock Jockey after that and invested in a nice, wholesome Sniper Rifle. The other two fights were so much nicer in comparison.

I did try a burn deck yesterday, it was one the closer games, (managed to damage him a little and stopped one of the angels, still overwhelmed me eventually though). Haven't played the Red deck as much though so right now I'm grinding it for more cards. Will give it another try tonight then with your recommendation.

The "Slaying Ravana", "High Noon"/"Bearbaiting" and "As Lighting Falls" levels of FreeSpace 2 (first played 5 months ago) are ungodly hard. In the first you are tasked of taking down a capital ship in a bomber while being simultaneously shot by both fighters and the capship's notoriously accurate anti-fighter beam cannons that pass right through your shields. In the second you're tasked with disarming the forward anti-capship beam cannons of an even larger enemy juggernaut. Except that even though you're using the most powerful bomb in the game it's still ungodly hard to destroy even the minimum requirement of two cannons because the bombs will do very small amount of damage if you launch them at a specific angle. And then there's "As Lighting Falls" in this mission you're tasked with finding a transport vessel in a nebula that keeps giving off EMP which screws up your radar and ability to lock on to enemy fighters meaning that you can easily get lost in the nebula and hitting enemy fighters is next to impossible. Despite these keyboard-breakingly frustrating levels FreeSpace 2 is still one of my favourite space sims and I enjoy replaying it every once in a while.

I guess I would say FTL, That game could really piss me of when the RNG screwed me but when I prevailed, albeit on easy. (I still deserve to be proud about beating it on easy.) I really felt good, I felt like I earned the win and the ship that came with it and even with most ships unlocked, it feels good to take down the rebel flagship, know that I took down the cheating bastard fair and square.

Shin Megami Tensei IV, I could list all the cheap deaths, slight mistakes, ambushes and all that good stuff...

Yet not for one moment did it cease to be fun, as soon as I beat it, I immediately made another file.

Dead Money as well, that fucking beeping and the damn cloud, but I walked out with all the gold bars, on Xbox, I basically walked up to the forcefield door, Elijah walked in and I glitched through it and walked away.
I killed Elijah just to get the Gauss rifle which isn't technically as good as the holorifle but it makes a nice energy sniper rifle.

Good luck, I know how much of a pain magic can be. Karn's Revenge was pain... Yeah lets play 3 moxs then show and tell... Yeah, that's real fair in any game of magic...

Probably Psychonauts. That bloody meat circus... a man can only play through a level so many times before he leaves some of his sanity behind. I got through it eventually though. Then the game crashed.
I played Psychonauts when it originally came out (so I was about 13 at the time). As time went on, whenever the game was discussed the meat circus level was always brought up because of how "hard" it was. Now, if my memory served me well, the meat circus was difficult, but nothing too extreme or out of the ordinary for a final level....

Until I replayed the game last weekend. Holy damn, is that section frustrating. So much trial and error precision platforming that the game really hasn't prepared you for at that point. In fact, I'd say the majority of the game plays closer to Shafer's bread and butter, the adventure game, more than it does a regular 3D platformer. So when you go from that to a timed platforming escort mission that throws tougher enemies and new mechanics at you it is actually a really jarring contrast. Oddly enough, when replaying this level the same thing happened to me and my PS3 crashed in the middle of the second part of the final boss fight...sending me all the way back to about the halfway point in the level (right before that infuriating section with the rising water level).

Jak 3 and especially Jak 2. In my youth I didn't even finish Jak 2 because it was so frustrating, Jak 3 was a little kinder which is probably why I liked it more and I don't care how much of a fucking casual that makes me sound.

Jak 3's cars handle like shit though.

I just recently (finally, I know) beat the first Kingdom Hearts in the 1.5 HD collection. I never beat it as a kid because I got stuck and got angry at it. Even now it was a ***** to beat, seeing as I was used to Kingdom Hearts II and how I put so many hours into that game and beat it. Kingdom Hearts was still a great game, amazing, but the ending Xanhort fight and how much one piece of damage rips your entire health bar to shreds pissed me off to no end. But still, I felt a rush of happiness when I beat it.

And don't get me started on the Hades cup...

Playing Binding of Isaac is just fucking infuriating sometimes. It's just the sheer randomness, sometimes everything will be good and I'll be flying through the game, and then suddenly hit a room that is just so unfair and cheap, and my health plummets from 5 hearts to 1, and suddenly I'm in panic mode because the game hasn't dropped any hearts for me for the last 3 floors. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU.

I'm trying to finish Sheol with all the characters right now. I've done everyone except Eve and The Poop. It's incredibly rewarding when you beat the devil, but goddamn are those two characters frustrating.

Bioshock Infinite for me. I thought it was going pretty well until
the part where Lady Comstock gets resurrected. After all, who doesn't enjoy fighting endlessly respawning enemies as your own resources slowly dwindle? In the fight in the bank, I had to resort to spamming Return to Sender, then running back to the Dollar Bill machine to restock salts over and over. not a very fun boss fight.
Fortunately, once it was over, I can't say I had any grievance with the rest of the game.
Just finished this part today in 1999 mode, an exercise in frustration to say the least. Add to that Metro 2033/Last Light in Ranger mode very hard, that was not easy, in 2033 I spent 4 real time hours pinned down in a stairwell by 5 nazis. Any S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game on master difficulty, ouch rarely a second chance in that one.

This is most every game for me, at least, if I don't completely stomp through it (I'm an all or nothing type of guy)

Lessee... I really think only two words need to be said: Unlimited Hazama. The absolute worst final boss in any fighting game I ave ever played, and many attempts to get a no continue playthrough were stomped into the ground (or, more likely, kicked far into the air. stupid infernal rapture doom blade ass bullshit)
Besides that? Megaman 2. The game that made me realize I hate disappearing blocks and Giant robotic dragons

BioShock 2 really, really irritated me at the start and I wasn't fond of being able to use plasmids and weapons at the same time. The story wasn't keeping me interested and the QTE to do the hacking really put me in a foul mood as I actually enjoyed the hacking in BioShock 1, and it didn't pause the game so if you accidentally began hacking prepare for a good arse kicking. However by the end it did really feel worth it, and looking back on it the second half of the game was quite fun, and BioShock 2 has the best ending in the series (but it's still not very good).
