XD No worries. just goes to show I'm not perfect I suppose.Though i will say that you probably have your best chance of hearing something new and alt-ish if you listen to the first link on sundays.

uhm, Streetlight Manifesto is a good band. Or maybe Flogging Molly. Might also enjoy The Addicts.

Recomend some alternate music. I'm really sick of generic clones and mainstream music. I like rock and metal mostly but i will listen to almost anything. Just recomend somthing completely different. It can be A-tonal, experimental or instrumental or anything.
Raubtier
Sabaton

When we have the likes of Enter Shikari, Gorillaz, Tool and freaking Mike Oldfield all in the same category, there's a serious problem with this genre and throwing all these bands together serves no purpose as a recommendation as they're nothing alike.

I'm not the kind of person that thinks all genres and tags are pointless, but the "alternative" genre in particular is completely assbackward and has no idea what it is. At some point I think there was a clear definition but it's been mislabeled so much that it's completely unclear now.

By all means please educate me if you think I'm wrong, as I may very well be.

Thanks... you're the first person to say they're good bands, all my friends think I'm some kind of freak for listening to them. *Shrugs* Ah well.

I think of alternative as a guideline rather than a genre. Mew is progressive rock, but that would be considered an alternative to pop or rock.

It's hard to find more strange and obscure music than Suomisaundi - Finnish Psychedelic Trance.

(Hell, just look at the album art)

John Zorn has some really good stuff, most of which I haven't even begun to get into, if you want to give avant garde jazz a shot.
He has stuff like the moonchild series which is good if you're into awesome monster screams
And then there's stuff like this
