If you're into fantasy, I would highly recommend either Tigana or the Fionavar Tapestry trilogy by Guy Gavriel Kay. They're both excellent reads.
I also recently finished a book called Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. It's six short-ish novellas sandwiched together, written in completely different styles, that all turn out to be connected to each other in some way. It may not be for everyone, but it's a really really interesting book.

Yeah, I remember liking that series, but I think it should have ended when he was shot instead of coming up with some excuse to continue turning a profit. I liked that, for once, a still-lucrative series had a sudden, yet realistic, ending.

Has anyone ever hear of the Fantasy series "The Obsidian Trilogy" by Mercedes Lackey and James Mallory? I liked it, but it doesn't seem that well known.
The Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz.
The first book, "Odd Thomas", was fantastic. The second, "Forever Odd", was more straightforward, but still very good. "Brother Odd", the third, was kind of meh because they tried throwing in science fiction. I didn't read the newest one though, although it's supposedly an improvement on Brother Odd.
I'm not a big reader, but I would read "Odd Thomas" again. I fucking LOVED that book. "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley was also very good, but I'm just obsessed with that dystopian future setting, and this was a new take on it.

Anything by Max brooks or Stephen king, also, check out the series of resident evil novels, they're surprisingly good, and recently, I've been reading "the strain" by Guilermo del toro and chuck hogan, it's about a vampire plague striking new york after a plane lands with all but four passengers dead. Or at least, they seem dead...*insert twilight zone music. And no, young 'uns, the twilight zone is not a spin off of twilight...*
Definitely read Timothy Zhan if you're into Star Wars. Probably the only great Star Wars author out there.Luke5515 said:
