If your playing Gmod, you'll need 4 gb of ram.

Well not NEED, but trust me you'll want it badly.

And perhaps a bitching processor while your at it.

well a laptop is preferred, just because i might want to go up or downstairs, or a friends house, as for my budget, its really my parents(im 14) and they think im this huge nerd because i play alot of games, but im more of a console person currently, but 1000 would probably be a stretch(lawyers, online school, etc) so there willing to get me what i "need" but yea, any suggestions?

I dunno man. I'd say Dell XPS is a good bet for a simply no fuss Laptop. You can have one custom made for you from many Different sites.

Budget is mandatory. If you go crazy you could build a $10,000 machine that won't get you much more than a $2,000 machine. Newegg.com and some other places can save you big bucks if you know how to build. And skip water cooling unless you are an extreme enthusiast. Keep these factoids in mind also: Amd is usually cheaper than Intel but not always, AMD seems to be going for the win on GPU processing, ddr3 is really fast but ddr2 is fast also and cheap. give us something to go by and you might get some better advice. Also what is the purpose of the machine???

Well, I just got this laptop, and it's quite nice.

I'd definitely recommend it to anyone.

Something like this would probably be all you need and then some.

It's on sale right now but its a pretty beast laptop. Honestly though, I would just check newegg and their discounts they have running all the time. Make sure you get a laptop with around 4 gigs of ram and a video card like the one that laptop has.

If you are looking for a gaming laptop:

http://www.google.com/products/catalog?rlz=1C1GGLS_enUS366US366&sourceid=chrome&q=gateway+p-7805u&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=3013745187763540133&ei=nNt1S8yBD8XO8Qa9lrD0CQ&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=3&ved=0CBEQ8wIwAg#ps-sellers

Thing is an absolute beast. Runs Crysis on highest settings, 1600x1200 at a steady 30fps.

Gaming laptops are a bit pricier than the desktops, but the days of them being unreasonably. pricey are long over. This machine blows TF2 and WoW out of the water.

if you're on a budget you can get a refurbished machine from places like refurbdepot I got a 600$ machine that runs all you mentioned as well as stuff like dragon age and mass effect, very satisfied.
