Bonus points if the game's foolish, or makes you feel good, My list of awesome-sauce games I like is...
Minecraft
Xcom (Nothing like a well executed mission.)
Team Fortress (Mrhn-nnph dph ompt, mmh hnggnnh!)
Natural Selection 2 (Okay, I'm commanding. We got this shit.)
Krater
Most importantly, You need to be willing to be appeased. If you continue to think about your situation, you'll still be miserable. But if you focus on your accomplishments in your personal projects (If your not playing games) or your accomplishments in the game (Nothing... Like a well executed mission, Awww, yeah...) you'll continue to be miserable.
EDIT: And don't kid yourself into "I'm a badass, so it must be a violent game with blood and guts!" Play a game where you actually enjoy yourself, additional bonus points if you play with friends, as you know those friends are also having a good time.
Usually I like games where I can go and wreak havoc, causing destruction and murdering indiscriminantly when Im in that kinda mood =) This is a strange recommendation since I haven't actually played it but I hear Prototype is good for that?
Depends. If you feel the need to vent through violence, pick any of the God of War or Devil May Cry games and go apeshit on those pixely monsters.
If, on the other hand, you favour something nice to improve your mood (if only temporarily), I suggest Botanicula, a charming little adventure game available on Steam.
If you haven't exposed yourself to it already, I suggest you go forth and get yourself the awesome Noby Noby Boy. You may still be pissed off, but it's the best thing to distract you, confuse you and maybe - just maybe - make you laugh out loud, very LOL style. Plus, it may piss you off in a more constructive way you ever imagined. Good luck.
