Recommend a good horror film.

ALIEN. The only problem with the movie is that because it made the Xenomorph iconic, the affect of seeing it is dimished now that it's apperance is common place. Other than that it is a truly great horror flick.

I watched it recently, and I found it less than scary.
It's an excellent film, still, but without the sub-sonics from a theater or really good surround system, a lot of the tension isn't there.

Well, that's what my dad figured made it age poorly.
He also described the full plot to me at age six or so, so there were no surprises there (not even the chest-burster scene)

Try The House of the Devil. It's a very 80's horror (despite being made only recently) with a weak climax, but it's a decent film regardless.

I just saw Yellowbrickroad last night, and I'm hesitant to actually reccomend it...but you could check that out and see if you're interested.

At last someone who actually read my post properly, I have seen The House Of The Devil your short review is spot on. I will check out Yellowbrickroad.

I dont know much about horror but the Paranormal Activity series is decent. Not scary though, mostly funny. Insidious was awful though.

Oh yeah The Vanishing is pretty creepy. Its a Danish (I think) movie but they speek French. Its kind of like a European Hannibol. Stay away from the American remake though, I hear its pretty bad.

A man's head pops of, grows spider legs, and scuttles away.

Any self respecting horror fan has seen The Thing at least 20 times.

Well then, watch it again with a sibling. That's what I did.
Or build a shack out in the snow with a generator and a TV and watch it out there for full immersion.

Cool I will check that out, I hated the PA films and thought Insidious was okay until the end where it all fell flat on this weirdly make-upped face.

Honestly, I would suggest Yellowbrickroad for a look and then a watch if it seems interesting but...I wouldn't call it a good film really, even though it has its moments. Also any occult aspects are there more as implicit background than as something noticeable.

But I've seen worse, and you might end up enjoying it. I will warn you though, even next to The House of the Devil the ending is...eh, you'll see if you end up watching it.

Have you seen... Videodrome yet? I just saw it recently and loved it. Others that I would recommend of the top of my head that have not yet been mentioned are... In the Mouth of Madness, Phantasm, The Shining, The Blair Witch Project, Session 9, Dawn of the Dead, The Innocents, and Forbidden Planet. All great films. Hope that helps.

Depends on what kind of horror film you want to see:
If you wanna be deeply disturbed watch A Serbian film or Audition (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0235198/)
I also recommend Event Horizon if you haven't seen it.

Audition is a great film. I would also recommend confessions and noroi (the curse).

Seen Audition brilliant film, I will check out the other one.
