I cannot believe no one has said this yet: ORDER OF THE STICK. Freaking great comic. I'd also recommend DM of the Rings, and Darths and Droids. Have fun.

Seconded on all counts. OotS and D&D are always pretty on the ball.

It might already be over but 8-Bit Theater had some of the best writing I've ever seen in a webcomic. It was fantastic, especially for a lover of classic Final Fantasy.

the humor is similar to XKCD in some ways, but the nerdiness is more toned down and understandable
