I watched a film today at work that i havent heard of before it seems to have quite a big cult following its called "black dynamite" its basically a parody of films like shaft and 70s blaxplotation films. Its one of the funniest things ive seen in a while so i thought id share it. (NSFW) also be aware that its low budget and its supposed to be bad effects and stuff
If you have a film to recommend post a link here (no illegal link) just post a trailer or a clip if you cant find the whole thing
I'm not sure if posting a full film is against forum rules. I suppose if it is then posting music videos should be too.
OT: Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil. If you haven't seen this film watch it, right now. Stop everything and watch it.
EDIT: I thought of another The Brother from Another Planet, it's awesome. Even though by the end it started to look like cheesy 80s music video. Still totally sick.
I recommend 3 idiots, a Bollywood film about Engineering students. Touches on themes such as the different educational paradigms and the social concerns present among Indian students. Good songs too.
Man From Earth. Do yourself a favour and don't read up about what it is or watch the trailer (it spoils too much and is ass). In a nut shell, its about the entirety of human history and the human experience...all told on a couch!
I recommend two, both of which I learned about in a history of animation class. First, Persepolis. An animated film based on the graphic novel written by an Iranian woman named Marjane Satarpi. It tells the mostly-autobiographical story of Marjane growing up during the Iranian revolution. It is a fascinating view of both Iran and its people, and the story is beautifully animated and told. From events as major as buildings getting blown up and regimes being toppled, to beautiful and fun moments like Marjane buying an Iron Maiden tape from a man off the street the way people in other countries buy drugs. If not for the lesson in Iranian politics, it is a great watch for the beautiful animation and character moments.
This trailer is in English, but it was originally made in French because the animation studio Marjane teamed up with was based in France.
And then there's The Man Who Planted Trees. A French Canadian short film, which to me was very beautiful and cathartic to watch. It's just a beautiful story of growth and rebirth, and beautifully animated in a lush and unique coloring style (from what I understand, it involves oil pastels and glass plates, but I'm still not entirely sure how it works). The best I could find is this low quality version on YouTube, but if you have a chance to buy or watch it in high definition, I HIGHLY recommend it.

For me, I recommend a little independent movie from 2004 called Inheritance, starring Jen Taylor. Yes, that Jen Taylor [http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a124/boysofsheahem/blog%20graphics%203/Untitled-7.jpg]. It's an okay movie, but I love her voice.
